Sohotel
Look, I'll be honest – when I first walked into Sohotel, I wasn't expecting much from a hotel tucked into a narrow SoHo street.
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Sohotel, I wasn’t expecting much from a hotel tucked into a narrow SoHo street. But this place actually surprised me in the best way. The lobby’s got this understated industrial vibe that fits perfectly with the cast-iron buildings all around Broome Street, and you know what struck me right away? How quiet it was inside, even though you’re literally in the heart of one of New York’s busiest neighborhoods.
The rooms in this four-star spot are cleverly designed – I mean, they’re not huge (this is Manhattan, after all), but whoever planned the layout actually understood how travelers live. The bathroom had proper counter space for all your stuff, and the bed was positioned so you’re not staring directly at your neighbor’s fire escape. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing; you’d think being so close to Spring Street’s constant buzz would mean zero sleep, but honestly, I slept better here than at some places way uptown. The whole building feels solid, which makes sense given it’s one of those converted warehouse-type structures that New York does so well.
Here’s the thing about staying in SoHo – you’re walking distance from everything that matters, but you’re also paying SoHo prices for coffee and meals. Sohotel gets this, so they’ve actually got a decent grab-and-go setup in the morning, nothing fancy but real coffee and pastries that don’t taste like cardboard. The front desk staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood too, not just the tourist spots. When I asked about finding a good hardware store (don’t ask), the guy immediately knew I meant the one on Grand Street. Small detail, but it matters when you’re trying to navigate the city. The elevator’s a bit slow – probably original to the building – but honestly, that just adds to the character. I’d definitely come back here, especially if I’m in town for shopping or gallery hopping, since you can literally roll out of bed and be at some of the best boutiques and art spaces in the city within five minutes.

Wonderful
The rooms are small, as to be expected in NYC, but laid out to maximize the small space. All staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was fun. Great coffee available in the lobby in the mornings was a plus.
Great location, walk everywhere!
Such a great location and a brilliant room for a family of 5 which is often hard to get!!
Can’t beat the Location and cleanliness of the hotel. Rooms are a bit small but considering where it is , expected. Enjo
Location was amazing ! Room is clean and staff are wonderful. Also it smells so good everywhere around the hotel.
What could be improved: Nothing really!
Pretty hotel close to everything
Pretty hotel in the heart of soho. Short walk to literally everything in lower Manhattan. Staff were kind, offered an upgrade and when I passed provided a small one anyway. Informative, generous people in a lovely building.
What could be improved: Check in is located on the second floor which is slightly confusing, hardly a big concern but it's the only one I had.
Great location, fair price, clean and comfy hotel in Soho
Great location, comfortable room, helpful staff.
What could be improved: Would allow early check-in (needed to pay even am hour early), no elevator, may step to 3rd floor.
Great value for money and all you need to explore the city

Location, vibe and rooms
What could be improved: AC in room was noisy a little. Room was small for 5...
A nice stay soho, close to subway, staff were helpful.
The location was great, the staff were helpful.
What could be improved: The fire alarm went off 2/3 the nights we stayed at 3am and 4am. This was a little irritating. The room is a tigh squeeze but comfortable.
We would be happy to go there again
location was perfect and the room was charming. Loved the coffee.
What could be improved: We could have used an elevator but the staff was gracious enough to help bring the luggage up the last flight
