DoubleTree by Hilton New York Midtown Fifth Ave
You know what really struck me about DoubleTree by Hilton New York Midtown Fifth Ave?
You know what really struck me about DoubleTree by Hilton New York Midtown Fifth Ave? It’s one of those places that actually delivers on the promise of being right in the thick of things without making you feel like you’re sleeping in Times Square chaos. I mean, when you’re literally steps from Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, you’d expect tourist madness 24/7, but this four-star spot manages to feel surprisingly calm once you’re inside.
The lobby has that classic Hilton warmth – not too flashy, just solid and welcoming with those famous DoubleTree cookies at check-in (honestly, they never get old). What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know their neighborhood inside and out. When I asked about grabbing dinner somewhere that wasn’t a tourist trap, the concierge steered me toward a little Italian place on 52nd that I never would’ve found on my own. The rooms are what you’d expect from a well-run Hilton property – clean, comfortable beds, decent-sized bathrooms, and windows that actually block out most of the street noise, which in New York is no small feat.
Here’s the thing though – and this is something you only figure out after staying in Midtown a few times – the location is genuinely perfect for first-time visitors or anyone who wants to walk to the major attractions. You can hit the Museum of Modern Art in about eight minutes, grab breakfast at one of those classic New York delis on Sixth Avenue, then stroll through Central Park without needing the subway. The area gets busy during business hours (well, it’s Midtown), but evenings are actually pretty pleasant for walking around. Parking is what you’d expect in this part of Manhattan – expensive and limited – so I’d honestly just skip the car entirely. The real win here is that you’re close enough to all the must-see spots that you can duck back to your room during the day, which is clutch when you’re doing the full tourist circuit. It’s not the fanciest hotel in the city, and you’re paying for that location premium, but sometimes you just want a reliable place to sleep that puts you right where you need to be.
Early hotels booking in New York requires advance planning during peak seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s Broadway shows, world-class shopping, and American cultural attractions.

Perfect Midtown hotel!
Location was super convenient! Room was spacious for NYC. Staff was v accommodating and friendly.
What could be improved: The elevator was really slow (especially around check in/out times) but otherwise no complaints!
Great hotel in NYC
Location is great, close to Rockefeller, Times Square and St Patrick Cathedral
What could be improved: You need to pay a $200 deposit which will be returned to you in few days
We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to friends/family.
The location was perfect. We went to a couple shows and went shopping. The staff were so friendly and accommodating.
What could be improved: Parking is always tough in NY but I don’t fault the hotel for that.
Heart of New York City
Beautiful hotel in a great location right at the heart of New York City. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend staying here and would come back here myself.
What could be improved: Rooms are a bit small and compact, especially the bathroom. The sink is located outside the bathroom - this was inconvenient but not as much of an issue for me as stayed alone but may be for people sharing rooms.
