Sheraton Tribeca New York Hotel
I'll be honest – when I first walked into the Sheraton Tribeca New York Hotel, I wasn't expecting much from what looked like just another corporate chain property.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into the Sheraton Tribeca New York Hotel, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another corporate chain property. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in all the right ways. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels more boutique than big hotel, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests (which, let’s face it, isn’t always a given in New York).
What really won me over was the location – I mean, Canal Street might sound busy and chaotic (and okay, it sort of is), but being right there puts you in this perfect sweet spot between SoHo’s shopping madness and the Financial District’s towering energy. You can walk to the subway in about two minutes, and honestly, having the 6 train so close makes getting uptown ridiculously easy. The rooms themselves feel surprisingly spacious for Manhattan standards – I actually had enough space to fully open my suitcase without doing some weird yoga pose around the bed. The windows are properly soundproofed too, which matters when you’re literally on Canal Street with all its delivery trucks and general New York symphony of noise.
Here’s what I really appreciated about this four-star property: it doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. The fitness center is decent sized and actually gets natural light, the business center doesn’t feel like an afterthought shoved into a closet, and room service arrives when they say it will. Small things, but they add up when you’re dealing with the usual travel stress. The neighborhood vibe is fantastic too – you’ve got amazing dim sum at Nom Wah Tea Parlor just a few blocks away, and if you’re into vintage shopping or just people-watching, SoHo is literally right there. I stayed during a busy week in fall, and while the elevators got a bit slow during rush times (typical for any Manhattan hotel, really), the overall experience felt smooth and professional. The concierge actually knew the area well enough to recommend a great cocktail spot in Nolita that wasn’t packed with tourists – always a good sign in my book.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in New York at least three months ahead for major events like marathons and holiday celebrations, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular Manhattan attractions.

Great location. Clean. Comfortable bed. Lovely staff
Great location. Hotel is on Canal which is not beautiful, but Tribeca neighbourhood is immediately south and Soho neighbourhood is immediately north. Great shopping, food and workout options and lovely for a quiet walk. Close to the subway. Easy to get uptown - including Times Square if you are Broadway bound. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. The staff at the desk in the lobby approached us and got us a cab to the airport right away - that's been a challenge for us at much more expensive hotels in Soho. Comfortable bed. Great shower.
What could be improved: Small room. Corner with small window. Alarming when adjacent rooms opened their doors. Extra furniture (that wasn't necessary or even useful) in room made it feel cluttered and even smaller than it is. There is some kind of control on the air conditioning. Room was always warm when we came back after being out and about - it did cool once we were in it for a bit. A smart environmental and cost control choice, but would be good to know in advance because it was hot and humid weather when we were there and we were worried when we walked into our room.
Great location, good coffee bar, cost effective
Great location, relatively reasonable price
What could be improved: Nothing
Very Good

Great location, very clean and spacious rooms, highly recommended
Excellent location, very clean and spacious rooms, helpful staff.
I was travelling for work and I was given a quiet room as requested. The wi-fi was fast and stable, unlike many other hotels.
What could be improved: I didn't love the a la carte breakfast, I wish there were more options for a light breakfast and coffee early in the morning.
Super comfortable stay in great location!
Fabulous location right across from Soho, on major subway line. Super comfortable room and beds, large bathroom - everything you need!
What could be improved: It’s still on the more expensive side, but it’s NYC priced and was the cheapest nice place around.
It was great for what I needed, but I probably would not stay there again simply because he was hard to sleep with the d
The hotel is extremely clean. It was right next to Chinatown in Little Italy very convenient to catch the metro. The fitness center was also perfect.
What could be improved: The door slam so loud that it shakes the whole room. The air-conditioning is set to 68°, which is just a bit too warm.
Wonderful
Being on the club level and having access to the lounge 👌🏾. This made the hotel stay much better, especially being on the balcony area.
What could be improved: The only thing I would say is that overall the hotel seems to be designed for businessmen/women for a quick stay. The atmosphere and decor seem to follow that, which means the hotel design is a bit dated.
Pretty good
It was clean, the staff was friendly and the location.
What could be improved: There was a homeless man in the lobby. I felt bad for him. But at the same time I was scared.
Perfect location in Manhattan
Great location, room was very spacious for NYC. Staff went above and beyond.
What could be improved: Everything was great. We didn’t get breakfast so can’t speak to that.
Great downtown location, easy to get places with subway stops nearby.
Quiet room. Clean bathroom. Lounge area to work.
What could be improved: Difficult to connect to WiFi in the room.
