Four Points by Sheraton Midtown – Times Square
You know what struck me first about Four Points by Sheraton Midtown - Times Square?
You know what struck me first about Four Points by Sheraton Midtown – Times Square? It’s actually tucked away on West 40th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, which means you get that classic New York energy without being smack in the middle of the tourist chaos. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to Times Square in maybe five minutes, but when you step outside the hotel, you’re on a street where actual New Yorkers live and work – there’s this great little deli next door where the guy behind the counter remembers your order after two visits.
The lobby has this modern, streamlined vibe that honestly feels refreshing after walking past all those over-the-top Midtown hotels. It’s a four-star property, and you can tell they put thought into the details without going crazy with unnecessary flourishes. The rooms are what I’d call intelligently designed – they’re not huge (this is Manhattan, after all), but everything has its place. The beds are genuinely comfortable, which matters when you’ve been pounding the pavement all day, and the bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for this part of town. I stayed on the 12th floor and could actually see a sliver of the Hudson River if I pressed my face to the window just right. The air conditioning works like a dream, which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting in summer when the city turns into a sauna.
What really sold me on this place, though, is how the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about good breakfast spots that weren’t tourist traps, the front desk guy sent me to this tiny Puerto Rican place three blocks over that served the best coffee I had all week. The hotel’s own restaurant is solid – nothing groundbreaking, but the kind of reliable American fare that hits the spot when you don’t want to venture out. Parking is typical Manhattan expensive if you’re driving, but honestly, the subway entrance is right there on 42nd Street, so you’re connected to everything. I caught late shows, wandered through Central Park, hit up the Met – everything felt accessible without that exhausting Times Square foot traffic you deal with at some of the more centrally located places. The neighborhood gets quiet after 10 PM too, which is sort of miraculous for this part of the city. You’ll sleep well here, and in the morning, you’ll wake up ready to tackle whatever New York throws at you.

Great pre-cruise stay
Staff incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make our stay special
Nice Hotel, Shady Location
The staff was incredibly nice and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is well managed with a great staff. There is a 24 hr doorman/security. The entrance is locked after 10 pm and you can only get in with your room key. The hotel is close to Subway. The hotel is wonderful but just in an unfortunate area.
What could be improved: Visited 08/24/2025 - 08/27/2025. The hotel is great but is in an unfortunate area. The location is right next door to NYS DOCCs, Department of Corrections. The front of the hotel is clear however There was too much crime activity and unfavorable sights when walking near the property. Witnessed a woman selling pills, drug interactions, homeless people, people passed out on the sidewalk, and a man performing lewd acts. The property is close to an adult video store that turns to solicitors in the evening. Pot smoking is out of control just right down the street . Yes, all happening right down 40th Street from the Dept of Corrections. If you stay here, there is no way to avoid these sights if you are planning on walking to the subway or Times Square. I would not stay here with young children or teenagers.

Great stay
Great location. Friendly staff
Great location and value for money
The location is fantastic, right in front of the Port Authority bus terminal. Great value for money. All the staff were nice. The breakfast had decent choices and eggs were made to order. The room was clean, had good air conditioning, and contained an ironing board and iron. There were several large mirrors in the room which helped in getting dressed.
What could be improved: There is no water dispenser, so you have to buy water bottles from a machine.
Good value, helpful staff
Location, close to main NYC attractions, city center
What could be improved: Outdated facilities
Great central location with helpful and friendly staff
Loved the location and the staff were always helpful and friendly
What could be improved: Rooms were a little dated and the foyer a little drab.
Wonderful
What could be improved: The charge uo front when you check in of an extra $ 250 that then is returned at end of stay is unfair and not indicated when one makes the reservation. It is ahardship particularly for International guests where the credit card booking was done by a third party and they don't have extra card or cash . I see this as a criticism at all Marriotts not just this one .
Wonderful
Convenient location, comfortable and clean.
