Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East
I'll be honest – when I first walked into Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East, I wasn't expecting much from what I figured would be just another business hotel.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East, I wasn’t expecting much from what I figured would be just another business hotel. Boy, was I wrong. This four-star place on Third Avenue actually surprised me in the best way possible, and I mean that coming from someone who’s stayed in way too many Manhattan hotels over the years.
The location is what really sold me on this spot. You’re right in the thick of Midtown East, which honestly feels like the real working heart of New York – none of that touristy Times Square chaos, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I could walk to Grand Central in about ten minutes (super handy for airport connections), and the UN is practically around the corner if that’s your thing. What I loved most though was how easy it was to grab actual good food nearby – there’s this little deli on 54th that locals hit up for breakfast, and you know what, the hotel staff actually knew about it when I asked. That kind of local knowledge goes a long way with me.
The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from Courtyard, but done right. Mine faced Third Avenue, and yeah, you’ll hear some street noise, but it’s that low hum of city life that I actually find kind of comforting – not like those awful rooms that face construction sites or garbage trucks. The bed was legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about this), and they’d clearly renovated recently because everything felt fresh without being sterile. I spent some time working in their lobby area too, which has this modern but not trying-too-hard vibe – lots of business travelers camped out with laptops, but it never felt stuffy. The Wi-Fi was solid, the coffee was better than hotel standard, and honestly, the whole setup just worked. I stayed during a pretty busy week in fall, and even with the hotel full, the staff kept things running smoothly. Check-in was quick, they remembered my name the next day, and when I needed restaurant recommendations beyond the usual tourist traps, the front desk guy gave me three solid options within walking distance. That’s the kind of service that actually matters when you’re trying to navigate the city.
Hotel in New York booking should be done early, especially during holiday seasons when the city hosts internationally celebrated events and concerts at Madison Square Garden and other iconic venues.

Nice stay
Good service
What could be improved: Nothing
Good value overall and great location.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with fantastic views. The location was excellent—just a short walk or a 2-minute subway ride to all the main sights, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city.
What could be improved: Our booking clearly included breakfast for four adults, but this was disputed at check-in—a frustrating start after a long trip. I had to pull up the confirmation email myself to resolve it, and unfortunately, no apology was offered for the confusion or the unwelcoming attitude we encountered.
Breakfast itself was also uncomfortable. The staff were abrupt and, at times, patronizing—one comment in particular, “We are not in Europe here!” stood out as unnecessarily dismissive when we asked a simple question. It created a tense atmosphere that made us feel more like a burden than guests.
While we understand that the staff may be busy, a bit more patience and warmth would go a long way, especially when dealing with international visitors.
1st time in New York
Location
What could be improved: I included breakfast in my reservation and it was confusing to understand the menu. I would not suggest adding breakfast to your stay not worth the hassle and the food was just ok.
Wonderful
Location was great, bed was comfy!
What could be improved: No microwave in room and no breakfast buffet options, however there is a small bistro
Perfect location and more.
Hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent and close to subway.
Amazing
Really Good and the service is outstanding
Very helpful staff good location rooms were extremely comfortable and pleasant
Clean and efficient and very helpful staff
What could be improved: We had two adjoining rooms, but one of the rooms had noisy neighbors laid into the night probably children running and jumping in the room and yelling or talking loud and so our family members in that room did not get much sleep. there was no adherence to the idea of quiet hours, but I don’t know what the hotel would have done about it anyway.
Good location with very friendly stuff
God location and super friendly and supportive staff at the front desk
What could be improved: Noise insulation to neighbor room
