City Club Hotel
I'll be honest – when I first walked into City Club Hotel, I wasn't expecting much from the outside.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into City Club Hotel, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked into this classic Midtown block on West 44th Street, and honestly, you could walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. But that’s actually part of its charm, you know? While tourists are fighting for selfie space at the massive chain hotels nearby, this four-star spot feels like a well-kept secret that locals would approve of.
The thing that struck me immediately was how they’ve managed to keep that old-school New York hotel vibe without feeling stuffy or dated. The lobby has this intimate, clubby atmosphere – hence the name, I guess – with dark wood and leather that doesn’t scream “I’m trying too hard to be sophisticated.” You’re literally a two-minute walk from Times Square, which sounds terrible until you realize you can duck back here when the chaos gets overwhelming. And trust me, it will. I mean, the location is pretty perfect if you think about it – close enough to Broadway that you can walk to shows without dealing with subway delays, but far enough that you won’t hear the Elmo costumes partying at 2 AM.
What really won me over, though, were the small details that show someone actually thinks about the guest experience. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Manhattan, after all – but they’re thoughtfully designed with enough outlets near the bed (thank you) and blackout curtains that actually work. The shower pressure is solid, which honestly can make or break a New York hotel stay. I stayed on the seventh floor and barely heard street noise, which is pretty impressive considering you’re in the heart of everything. The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood too – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to grab decent coffee at 6 AM or which subway entrance is less of a nightmare during rush hour. One thing to keep in mind is that parking here is going to cost you, but honestly, if you’re driving in Midtown, you’ve already made some questionable life choices. The whole area gets pretty hectic during theater rush, but if you time your comings and goings right, it’s totally manageable. For what you’re getting – a proper hotel experience right in the thick of things without the corporate hotel feeling – it’s a solid choice that won’t leave you with any real regrets.

I’d stay here again because it was clean and convenient and the price was right!
Staff, location and room
Was really nice and cold
And quiet!!!
What could be improved: Didn’t have a gathering space or lobby area. Also, breakfast should have a good protein like boiled eggs.lots of sweet cereals and breads!
Great location, clean and very very nice and accommodating staff!
They were very accommodating and let me check in early. I didn’t get the cream of the crop room but I figured that would be the case by checking in early. Very comfy room with a good a/c and a huge bathroom with a bidet! It was a perfect location from the park, Grand Central, 5th Ave, etc. A great coffee machine that made strong espresso.
What could be improved: The didn’t offer any protein at the breakfast…lots of carb options and fruit. Also, if you need a space to gather with friends, there is no lobby for this.

Location, room was clean
What could be improved: The staff not
Great family room in a fabulous location
The hotel is in an excellent location. The room was perfect for 5 people, but it got very hot at night if you didn't have the air-conditioning on. We managed fine as we weren't in the room very much! Great selection at breakfast. A very laid back feel to the hotel which was great - thanks to all the staff.
What could be improved: It was a bit cold for the person sleeping in the single sofa bed, as it was right next to the air conditioning unit.
Lack of wardrobe space for a family of 5.
Perfect for a solo traveler who wants privacy and a location away from a busy street.,
It was quiet, clean, comfortable, in a good location, as well as being reasonably priced.
What could be improved: It was pretty shabby in the hallways and the elevator.
we enjoyed very much our stay!
the location is perfect. the room was very clean an spacious.
What could be improved: there could be more variety for the breakfast selection. no view.
Staff is great
Location
What could be improved: U can barely see the hotel 🤔 needs a big sign upfront

What could be improved: Breakfast. The staff at the breakfast seemed very irritated. The complimentary breakfast is nice, but very basic.
