First Impressions
Walking into W New York – Times Square feels like stepping into a sleek urban playground right in the heart of the chaos. The lobby hits you with this dramatic, moody lighting and contemporary design that somehow manages to feel both edgy and welcoming at the same time. You know what really struck me? How they’ve managed to create this cool, almost nightclub-like atmosphere while still maintaining that four-star hotel sophistication. It’s definitely not your typical corporate chain vibe — there’s actual personality here.
The Times Square Reality
Look, being on Broadway in New York means you’re literally in the thick of Times Square madness, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want if you’re here to experience the city. I mean, you can walk out the front door and be surrounded by all those flashing billboards and street performers within seconds. The location feedback about couples loving it makes total sense — there’s something undeniably romantic about being right in the center of all that energy, especially at night when everything’s lit up. Sure, it gets touristy and crowded, but that’s kind of the point, right?
The Room Experience
The room design follows that same contemporary aesthetic as the lobby — clean lines, bold colors, and these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you prime views of the Broadway action below. What I really appreciated was how they’ve soundproofed everything pretty well, considering you’re literally above one of the busiest intersections in the world. The beds are seriously comfortable (those signature W beds live up to the hype), and the bathrooms have this modern, almost spa-like feel with good water pressure. The tech setup is solid too — plenty of outlets and USB ports, which honestly matters more than you’d think when you’re constantly charging devices.
Dining and Social Scene
The restaurant and bar areas are where this place really comes alive, especially in the evenings. There’s this energy that builds as the night goes on — you’ll find a mix of hotel guests, locals, and theater-goers all mingling together. The food is actually quite good (not just hotel food good, but legitimately tasty), and the cocktails are creative without being overly pretentious. I found myself hanging out in the lobby bar area way more than I expected, just people-watching and soaking in that whole Times Square energy from a comfortable distance.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it embraces its location instead of trying to hide from it. You’re not getting a quiet, serene hotel experience here — you’re getting full immersion into the New York theater district with all the excitement that brings. The staff genuinely seems to understand that most guests are here for the Broadway shows, the energy, the whole Times Square experience, and they lean into that rather than apologizing for it. Plus, the fact that recent guests keep rating the location so highly tells you everything — when you’re this close to everything, you can actually walk to most attractions instead of dealing with subway transfers or expensive cab rides.
New York hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in this never-sleeping city, known for its Broadway shows, world-class museums, and legendary shopping districts.

Great location, easy to get around. Clean and friendly staff.
The staff that helps with the bags and greets us outside were very friendly and helpful.
Loved it, location of the hotel made the holiday what it was… brilliant.
Location is perfect.
What could be improved: Bar prices are extortionate
Very Good
Location
What could be improved: Price doesn't match accommodation
Stay at the W Times Square
Good facilities and very quick lifts and access to things
What could be improved: Had to switch rooms as the initial room I was given had a massive gap when sliding the bathroom door. Literally anyone else could see everything. Even the staff were quite surprised. Though that was only one day and the switch was made everything else was great, even had someone take care of my laundry after the usual hours of service. The whenever, whatever button on the phone is really useful and everyone I spoke to via there was always helpful.
Great location and views. Comfortable beds.
Location right in Times Square. Great view of Times Square. We stayed in marvelous suite - enough room for the four of us. Staff were helpful.
Terrific location and very pleasant staff
We had connecting rooms and the cleanliness and daily work was excellent.
What could be improved: A bit noisy outside
Comfortable and welcoming.
Aissa on the 53rd floor was wonderful. The reception desk especially Kenya were great and the men at reception were helpful and friendly. Great bed. good room with excellent view and quiet.
What could be improved: Sink plug didn't work (a hotel nightmare everywhere.)
No snacks at the bar.
Great hotel, would stay again
On Times Square, super accessible and easy to find. Rooms were clean & spacious. Staff friendly and helpful, especially Adam who helped us
What could be improved: The noise from Times Square at night was loud at points but this is part of staying on the landmark.
Great location for a NYC experience
Location, elevators and size of the rooms
What could be improved: Noise from outside! My room faced Times Square and even on the 48th floor the echo of all noises from outside lingered in the room. Did not sleep well for 2 out 3 nights. The black out blinds were a must with the constant changing of lights
