W New York – Times Square

Honestly, when I first walked into W New York – Times Square, I wasn’t sure what to expect – I mean, you hear “Times Square hotel” and immediately think tourist trap, right? But this four-star place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby hits you with this sleek, modern vibe that somehow manages to feel sophisticated despite being literally in the middle of the world’s biggest circus. You know what I loved? The staff didn’t have that fake-friendly thing going on – they were genuinely helpful, especially when I was trying to figure out the quickest way to avoid the Elmo costume chaos outside.
The location is honestly both a blessing and exactly what you’d think. Yes, you’re right there on Broadway – like, you step outside and you’re immediately swimming in that sea of tourists and flashing billboards. But here’s the thing locals know: if you duck down 47th Street, you can actually get around pretty efficiently, and having the R and W trains at 49th Street means you’re connected to the whole city without dealing with the absolute madness of the main Times Square station. My room faced west, and while you definitely hear the city (this is New York, after all), the windows do a decent job of muffling the worst of it. I actually found the ambient city noise kind of soothing after the second night – though if you’re a light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs just in case.
What really won me over was how the hotel doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. The rooms have this clean, minimalist design with pops of color that feel intentional, not like someone just threw a bunch of trendy stuff together. The bed was legitimately comfortable – and I’m picky about that – and the shower had amazing water pressure, which honestly matters more than most people admit. The fitness center is small but well-equipped, and I appreciated that it wasn’t packed at 6 AM like some hotel gyms. Look, if you want to be in the heart of everything – and I mean everything – this place delivers without making you feel like you’re staying in a theme park. You’re a two-minute walk from some incredible Broadway shows, countless restaurants (skip the chain places right outside and walk a few blocks for much better food), and yeah, all the tourist stuff if that’s your thing. It’s not the quietest spot in the city, and you’ll pay Manhattan prices for everything, but sometimes you want to be right in the middle of the energy rather than observing it from a distance.
New York hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in this never-sleeping city, known for its Broadway shows, world-class museums, and legendary shopping districts.

What could be improved: Wi-Fi not available without a fee are
Great location, easy to get around. Clean and friendly staff.
The staff that helps with the bags and greets us outside were very friendly and helpful.
Loved it, location of the hotel made the holiday what it was… brilliant.
Location is perfect.
What could be improved: Bar prices are extortionate
Very Good
Location
What could be improved: Price doesn't match accommodation
Stay at the W Times Square
Good facilities and very quick lifts and access to things
What could be improved: Had to switch rooms as the initial room I was given had a massive gap when sliding the bathroom door. Literally anyone else could see everything. Even the staff were quite surprised. Though that was only one day and the switch was made everything else was great, even had someone take care of my laundry after the usual hours of service. The whenever, whatever button on the phone is really useful and everyone I spoke to via there was always helpful.
Great location and views. Comfortable beds.
Location right in Times Square. Great view of Times Square. We stayed in marvelous suite - enough room for the four of us. Staff were helpful.
Terrific location and very pleasant staff
We had connecting rooms and the cleanliness and daily work was excellent.
What could be improved: A bit noisy outside
Comfortable and welcoming.
Aissa on the 53rd floor was wonderful. The reception desk especially Kenya were great and the men at reception were helpful and friendly. Great bed. good room with excellent view and quiet.
What could be improved: Sink plug didn't work (a hotel nightmare everywhere.)
No snacks at the bar.
Great hotel, would stay again
On Times Square, super accessible and easy to find. Rooms were clean & spacious. Staff friendly and helpful, especially Adam who helped us
What could be improved: The noise from Times Square at night was loud at points but this is part of staying on the landmark.
Great location for a NYC experience
Location, elevators and size of the rooms
What could be improved: Noise from outside! My room faced Times Square and even on the 48th floor the echo of all noises from outside lingered in the room. Did not sleep well for 2 out 3 nights. The black out blinds were a must with the constant changing of lights
