First Impressions

Walking into The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park feels like stepping into old-school Manhattan elegance — the kind you see in movies but rarely experience in person. The lobby has this timeless sophistication that doesn’t feel stuffy or pretentious, which honestly surprised me given the location. You’re literally across from Central Park, and I mean literally — step outside and there’s the park entrance. The staff greets you like they’ve been expecting you specifically, not just another guest checking in.

Location & Neighborhood

This five-star hotel sits right on Central Park South, which is probably the most coveted address in New York. You know what’s great about this spot? You can walk to Lincoln Center in about ten minutes, hit up the shops along Fifth Avenue, or just disappear into Central Park whenever the city gets overwhelming. The subway’s close enough to be useful but far enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos. Couples absolutely love it here — and I can see why, because there’s something romantic about having Central Park as your backyard.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had these massive windows overlooking the park, and honestly, the view alone justifies the splurge. The beds are ridiculously comfortable — like, sink-into-luxury comfortable — which explains why guests rave about the sleep quality here. Everything feels substantial and well-made, from the marble bathroom to the plush robes. The attention to detail is what you’d expect from a luxury property, but it doesn’t feel overdone or flashy. The furnishings are elegant and thoughtfully curated throughout.

Dining & Amenities

The American breakfast is solid — nothing groundbreaking, but executed perfectly with quality ingredients. The restaurant downstairs serves excellent food, though you’re also surrounded by some of the city’s best dining options within walking distance. The spa is smaller than what you might find at resort properties, but the treatments are top-notch and the atmosphere is serene. There’s something to be said for having a quiet retreat when you’re in the middle of Manhattan’s energy. The wellness facilities are designed for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it balances luxury with livability. You’re not just staying at a fancy hotel — you’re experiencing Manhattan from one of its most privileged perches. The service feels personal rather than scripted, and the location means you can experience both the tranquility of Central Park and the excitement of the city without compromise. It’s expensive, sure, but when you factor in the location, the quality, and that feeling of being at the center of everything that matters in New York, it actually makes sense. This is the kind of place that makes you understand why people fall in love with this city. Every moment here feels intentional and memorable.

New York hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in this never-sleeping city, known for its Broadway shows, world-class museums, and legendary shopping districts.

Somewhat disappointing because of the floor I was assigned and the small size of the room, which seemed bigger in the pi

Location. It was clean and well appointed. The staff was courteous and eager to please.

What could be improved: I had requested a park view suite on a high floor, however, was given a suite on the 3rd floor where I could only see the tree tops and flagstaff in front of the hotel. I requested to move but was not accommodated. The room was small and needed a face-lift.

Good

What could be improved: The Contour is experiencing some pretty major issues right now. Across three days we, and others around us, experienced some dire service from the waiting staff. The manager did his best to rectify the situation but the wait staff have no clue what they are doing

Great hotel (get discount W/app +86 178 6116 9200)

My recent stay at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park was an unparalleled experience of luxury, opulence, and elegance. From the moment I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted with a level of service and attention to detail that was truly exceptional.

The location of the hotel, overlooking Central Park, is absolutely breathtaking. The views from my room were nothing short of spectacular, and I found myself mesmerized by the natural beauty of the park every morning and evening.

The room itself was a haven of comfort and sophistication, exquisitely designed with plush furnishings and high-quality amenities. The attention to detail in the decor and the comfort of the bedding made for a truly restful and rejuvenating stay.

The dining options at The Ritz-Carlton were equally impressive. The Michelin-starred restaurant, BLT Market, served delectable dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. The elegant ambiance of the restaurant made each meal a memorable experience.

What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the exceptional service. The staff's dedication to ensuring every guest's comfort and satisfaction was remarkable. They anticipated my needs and went above and beyond to make my stay truly unforgettable.

In summary, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park is a pinnacle of luxury and sophistication. It offers an unmatched level of service, combined with a stunning location and top-notch accommodations. My stay was nothing short of exceptional, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience in the heart of Manhattan.
