First Impressions
Walking into The Plaza feels like stepping into a movie set — and honestly, that’s because it basically is one. This five-star icon on Fifth Avenue has been the backdrop for countless films, but what strikes you first isn’t the Hollywood glamour, it’s the sheer scale of the place. The lobby soars above you with gilded details that somehow manage to feel grand without being gaudy, and there’s this energy that comes from being at one of New York’s most legendary addresses.
The Heart of Manhattan
You know what’s wild about staying here? You’re literally across from Central Park — I mean, you can see the park from many rooms, which in Manhattan is like having a front-row seat to the city’s backyard. The location score of 9.7 makes total sense when you realize you’re steps from the Apple Store, Bergdorf Goodman, and basically everything that makes Fifth Avenue famous. Couples especially love it here (they rate the location 9.8), and I get why — there’s something romantic about being in the center of it all while having Central Park as your neighbor.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of classic luxury and modern comfort. Those beds everyone raves about? They’re legitimately amazing — the kind where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed. The marble bathrooms are spacious (a rarity in NYC), and the attention to detail is what you’d expect from a place that’s been perfecting hospitality since 1907. Some rooms have park views, others look out onto the bustling avenue, but honestly, both have their charm depending on what kind of New York energy you’re after.
Dining and Amenities
The American breakfast here is solid — nothing too fancy, but executed well with quality ingredients that fuel you for a day of city exploring. What I actually loved more was the afternoon tea service, which feels quintessentially Plaza without being stuffy. The Oak Room and Palm Court each have their own personality, and there’s something satisfying about grabbing a drink in the same spaces where literary legends and business moguls have been making deals for decades. The spa downstairs is a nice retreat when the city gets overwhelming, though you’ll pay Manhattan luxury prices for the privilege.
Why Guests Love It
Look, The Plaza isn’t trying to be the hippest hotel in town — it’s banking on being an institution, and that strategy works. People come here because they want to feel like they’re part of New York history, and the staff understands that responsibility. The service feels personal despite the hotel’s size, and there’s this sense that you’re not just staying somewhere, you’re experiencing a piece of the city’s story. Yes, it’s expensive, but when you’re walking out the front door onto Fifth Avenue with Central Park across the street, it’s hard to argue with the value of that kind of access to everything Manhattan has to offer.
Exploring New York offers visitors an unforgettable journey through America’s most iconic city, from its towering skyscrapers to its diverse neighborhoods and world-renowned connections to global culture and commerce.

Very positive. Check in was quick and very effective. Concierge arranged restaurants for every night. Room cleaning was perfect. The only small problem was lack of space for breakfast on those days when second facility was closed. But waiters did great to keep us feeling well. Ivitsa helped us on last two days and was VERY helpful
