Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling attempts, and they gave me genuinely useful neighborhood tips without the robotic script you usually get. The rooms have this interesting mix of industrial touches and comfortable details – exposed brick here and there, but with lighting that actually works for reading and getting ready. I mean, the bathroom products were legitimately good, not just fancy-looking bottles with mediocre stuff inside.

What really works about this place is how it sits in Chelsea. You’re right in the middle of everything that makes this neighborhood interesting – the High Line is basically at your doorstep, you’ve got the Whitney a few blocks south, and all those gallery spaces if that’s your thing. But you know what I appreciated most? The quiet. Despite being on a fairly busy street, the rooms face away from the worst of the traffic noise, and the building itself seems to absorb sound well. I could actually sleep with the windows cracked open, which is saying something in this city. The surrounding blocks have that perfect mix of local spots and visitor-worthy places – there’s a solid coffee shop right around the corner that doesn’t feel touristy, and you can walk to the Meatpacking District or down to the Village without dealing with subway transfers. Parking‘s still New York parking (meaning expensive and annoying), but at least there are a few garage options nearby if you’re driving in. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel like I was experiencing the city rather than just visiting it.
