The Moore, New York City, a Member of Design Hotels

The Moore, New York City, a Member of Design Hotels honestly caught me off guard – in the best way possible.

The Moore, New York City, a Member of Design Hotels honestly caught me off guard – in the best way possible. I’d walked past this Chelsea spot on 22nd Street dozens of times without really noticing it, which is sort of the point. It’s not trying to scream for attention like some of the flashier places in Midtown, but once you step inside, you realize this four-star property has something quietly sophisticated going on.

The lobby feels more like stepping into a well-curated friend’s apartment than a hotel – there’s this warm, lived-in quality that design hotels sometimes miss when they’re trying too hard to be cool. The staff actually seems to know what they’re doing too, which you can’t always count on in New York. Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling attempts, and they gave me genuinely useful neighborhood tips without the robotic script you usually get. The rooms have this interesting mix of industrial touches and comfortable details – exposed brick here and there, but with lighting that actually works for reading and getting ready. I mean, the bathroom products were legitimately good, not just fancy-looking bottles with mediocre stuff inside.

What really works about this place is how it sits in Chelsea. You’re right in the middle of everything that makes this neighborhood interesting – the High Line is basically at your doorstep, you’ve got the Whitney a few blocks south, and all those gallery spaces if that’s your thing. But you know what I appreciated most? The quiet. Despite being on a fairly busy street, the rooms face away from the worst of the traffic noise, and the building itself seems to absorb sound well. I could actually sleep with the windows cracked open, which is saying something in this city. The surrounding blocks have that perfect mix of local spots and visitor-worthy places – there’s a solid coffee shop right around the corner that doesn’t feel touristy, and you can walk to the Meatpacking District or down to the Village without dealing with subway transfers. Parking‘s still New York parking (meaning expensive and annoying), but at least there are a few garage options nearby if you’re driving in. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel like I was experiencing the city rather than just visiting it.

To book hotel in New York during the iconic Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration, visitors should make reservations well in advance as this global metropolis attracts millions of tourists from around the world.

Beautiful hotel in Chelsea area of NYC, stylish, compact, but well worth the value!

The location and style of the place standout. Also, the staff was incredibly accommodating. Furthermore, there a $40 vouchers per night! I can't complain about anything.

Great hotel and location for Chelsea visit

Very friendly staff, professional

What could be improved: Bathroom is black tile. Very cool but made the lighting difficult from the make-up application side of things. Very small room not atypical for nyc. We had to book late so probably didn’t get the best price/value that we could have from booking.com

Fantastic location, fantastic staff

Fantastic location, attentive and friendly staff and a fabulous rooftop bar! The toiletries were top notch, and the staff made a killer coffee for us every morning.

What could be improved: The rooms are very small- which was challenging.
The corridors and lifts are poorly lit also.
It would also be great if there was a diffuser attachment available for the hairdryer.

Really enjoyed the best that New York has to offer from a lovely hotel in a quiet neighbourhood.

Great location. Near subway and neighbourhood restaurants.

What could be improved: Room was a bit small but it is New York.

Good experience on a whole except from the above mentioned

Its location, design and comfy/clean

What could be improved: The mandatory 40$/day extra fee for the facilities even though we did not plan on using any of them.
