The Manhattan Club
You know what surprised me most about The Manhattan Club?
You know what surprised me most about The Manhattan Club? It actually feels like a proper New York apartment building from the outside – none of that flashy hotel signage screaming for attention on West 56th Street. I mean, you could walk right past it if you weren’t looking, which honestly adds to its charm in this part of New York where everything’s trying so hard to be noticed.
The thing about staying here is that you’re genuinely living like a local for a few days. This four-star spot gives you actual suites with kitchenettes, which sounds minor until you realize you can grab groceries from the Whole Foods on 57th and make coffee at 6 AM without getting dressed. The rooms have this comfortable, lived-in feeling – not that sterile hotel vibe where you’re afraid to touch anything. My suite had these huge windows facing south, and honestly, the light in the afternoon was incredible. You get glimpses of Central Park if you crane your neck just right, though I’ll be straight with you – it’s more of a peek than a view.
What really works about this place is the location without you realizing it at first. You’re basically planted between Hell’s Kitchen and Midtown, which means you can walk to a Broadway show in eight minutes or hit up those amazing little Thai places on 9th Avenue just as easily. I found myself using the subway less because everything felt walkable – even down to Times Square, though let’s be honest, you probably don’t want to do that walk more than once. The neighborhood gets surprisingly quiet at night too, especially compared to staying right in the theater district where the crowds never really disappear. Check-in was smooth, though the lobby’s pretty small and can feel cramped when there’s a group ahead of you. The staff knows their stuff about the area – they pointed me toward Joe Allen for dinner, which locals know is where theater people actually eat, not the tourist traps on 46th Street. One thing to note: parking‘s going to cost you, but that’s true anywhere in Manhattan, and there’s a garage literally next door if you’re driving in. The building itself has this old New York character – you know, the kind with thick walls so you’re not hearing your neighbors’ conversations through paper-thin hotel walls. It’s not fancy in that over-the-top way, but it’s solid and comfortable, and after a long day of walking around the city, that’s exactly what you want.
New York’s apartments offer urban accommodations with skyline views, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this culturally rich American metropolis.

Excelent location and very close to Central Park and Times square
Location and the room 2219, very nice view.
Good
Room, location and service/staff was all great.
What could be improved: Hotel feels small and tight, but it's quite normal for Manhattan. Room was actually bigger than expected, great.
Very Good
Location was excellent.
A phenomenal New York stay – the best I’ve ever had in the city, with outstanding staff and a truly grand feel!
Everything about this stay was phenomenal. The location was absolutely perfect – and I’ve been to New York about 10 times, this was hands down the best experience, second to none. The hotel had a lovely, grand feel and the staff were so friendly and helpful throughout. Even when I accidentally left something in the room after checking out, they made sure it was returned to me straight away. The whole place felt superb – from the atmosphere to the service, it was brilliant all around.
What could be improved: The TVs were very outdated with no smart features, which made them basically unusable. Even the channels were limited and confusing, so I couldn’t really unwind with TV in the evenings. That’s the only thing I’d say needs improvement. Made for boring nights in the room.
Not the Ritz, but nice for a night in the City.
Nice location and wonderful staff
What could be improved: Junior suite with terrace pictures in Booking.com were not representative of the dark reality. The “terrace was just a narrow balcony. Our bedroom had no windows and was dark. The elevator situation was poor (Not enough capacity). The cabinets in the room were flimsy and misaligned. It just was not “luxury”. It was adequate at best.
Good property but some staff shouldn’t be there.
Great location surrounded by restaurants, souvenir stores, shops.
What could be improved: The description shows great views of the city but in our visit they gave us the room with the worst view. It was completely obstructed and in the 2nd floor. Not to mention that the bellboy at our arrived was so mean and disrespectful. He took my bags and yelled at me when tried to take the elevator with my husband and 2 kids, to give me a note that I didnt even know what was it for, after half an hour of being waiting for my luggage I realized he put my bags in their luggage storage instead of taking them to my room. Totally lost of what he was supposed to do. I even had to go to the lobby again and look for my own bags in their storage as they couldn’t find them themselves.
Convenient, comfortable and clean stay!
The bed was comfortable, the bathrooms were decently lit and sized, and there were a couple of full sized mirrors which is an added bonus!
What could be improved: The elevators were so slow and my friends and I had to end up walking down 23 flights of stairs on check out day because everyone was checking out at the same time and the elevators were slow nd kept being full.
Overall experience was great! Would absolutely recommend staying here!
Staff, location
What could be improved: Sofa bed was uncomfortable
We had a great experience. The hotel is very clean and close to subway station.
Close to everything.
Wonderful
We stayed at this hotel as a family of four, and the room size was perfect for us. Having a counter with a sink, a dishwasher, and cabinets stocked with dishes was very convenient and added a nice touch of comfort and luxury. The furniture and curtains had a charming antique New York style, which gave the room a unique character. The location was also excellent, just a short walk from Times Square.
What could be improved: The downside, however, was the cleanliness. The sofas had some visible dirt. Also, although we were four guests, the sofa bed was not set up when we checked in. We ended up setting it up ourselves and had to call the staff to bring us sheets and pillows.
