Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy The Nash Apartments Midtown East
I'll be honest – when I first heard about Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy The Nash Apartments Midtown East, I was skeptical about the whole apartment-hotel hybrid thing.
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy The Nash Apartments Midtown East, I was skeptical about the whole apartment-hotel hybrid thing. But after staying there on East 39th Street, I actually get it now. This four-star setup sits right in Murray Hill, which honestly feels like one of New York’s best-kept secrets for visitors who want to feel less touristy. You’re literally a block from the massive Whole Foods on 3rd Avenue (trust me, you’ll appreciate this for late-night snacks), and the 6 train at 33rd Street is close enough that you won’t be dragging your luggage too far.
What really struck me about The Nash is how they’ve nailed that “living like a local” vibe without sacrificing hotel conveniences. The apartments – and they really do feel like proper apartments, not just extended-stay rooms – come with full kitchens that actually work well. I mean, the counter space isn’t huge, but I managed to cook a decent breakfast without feeling cramped. The living areas have this modern but not sterile feel, sort of like if West Elm had a more sophisticated older sibling. From my unit on the 8th floor, I could see slices of the Chrysler Building between other buildings, which honestly made my morning coffee routine feel pretty special. The neighborhood itself is wonderfully quiet for Midtown – you’re close enough to Grand Central that you can walk there in about 10 minutes, but far enough from the Times Square chaos that you can actually sleep with the windows cracked open.
Here’s what I really appreciated: the front desk staff knows the area inside and out. When I asked about good dinner spots that weren’t total tourist traps, they steered me toward this excellent Korean place on 32nd Street that I never would have found otherwise. The check-in process was smooth – no waiting around in a crowded lobby – and they had my apartment ready even though I arrived earlier than expected. Storage space is actually generous for New York standards, and the washer-dryer in the unit was a game-changer for a longer stay. You know what surprised me most? How quiet it stays, even on weekends. Murray Hill has this residential energy that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the city from an insider’s perspective rather than just passing through. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the elevators can be a bit slow during busy times, but that’s pretty typical for newer buildings in this part of town. If you want to feel settled in New York rather than just visiting it, this place really delivers on that promise.

Guest Reviews
Great location, great accommodation
Spacious and good location
Very Good
Very nice clean not too small for NYC
What could be improved: Hall lighting is a little dark if you’re trying to use the key pad to get in room
Nice accomadation, good location
The actual accomadation was great, clean, nicely appointed w/ the excetion of bathroom needs some updating. Great location
What could be improved: The common areas were dark, not well ventilated . Even though it is asvertises as no smoking cigarette smoke and marijuanna odor permiated the commin areas and our apartment 4 G. It really smelled as though it was coming through the bathroom vents.
Someone vomitted Friday evening all over the elevator on the left and remained there until late morning Saturday in spite of doorman who came in a 5 am seeing it. His comment this is a building full of under 30 year old with rich parents . Happens all the time here
Would definitely chose this option again on a future visit.
The location was really excellent - safe, close to a subway and lots of restaurants close by. The apartment was very well appointed, spacious and clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the sofa bed was also a good size.
What could be improved: If you're not used to air con - the unit is noisy. We ended up switching it off while watching TV. And maybe bring your own hair dryer if you like to blow dry your hair as the one on site has no power.

What could be improved: the room was dark
Nice spot, good price , would stay there again.
Clean room. Nice location and a great space
What could be improved: Check in and late check out were a bit sloppy. You can’t get a key or a code from the front desk you need to call Sonder. I didn’t get my key code in advance so had to call them to check in. Not a huge deal but make sure you have your host get you your door-code before check in to save time. I requested a
Late check out, but then got locked out of the room after 11 AM. It took a 10 minute phone call and someone physically brought me my key to re enter. Process should be much more fluid than this….
Very Good
Amazing location and price. Lots of space for 4 adults and great to have the kitchen
What could be improved: Laundrette requires a card you need to buy plus minimum topup which makes it expensive to only use once.
Nice location, very clean and well equipped.
was clean, kitchen well equiped, silent place.
What could be improved: they charged 250 before check in without warning, I complained in the chat, but they said it was policy. The room was nice, however it may need some tlc (I see the wall paint was patched in a few places, floor is quite tired). Other that that all good. Manhattan is very expensive, at least we paid and got some comfort
perfect location
perfect position. close to grand central station and some of the main museums (MoMA) and main buildings (Flatiron for example is only 15 mins away by foot). the flat reflects the pictures and the staff at the reception is very helpful. also the app and the support from remote is friendly and effective.
What could be improved: during our stay the room locking combination stopped working, but the structure was very helpful to solve the issue immediately. It was not the best after 5hours in the rain, but problem solved!
Great place to stay, satisfied my expectations.
Location because it is close to gran central terminal and that is has everything you need within the facilities.
Staff answers very quickly through the Sonder App, really helpful.
What could be improved: The keycode to access my room never worked so I had to carry a key everywhere I went. Also in the first day the wifi was not working so I had to wait one day before Sonder fixed it.
The room was too dark for us, we recommend adding at least one light bulb in the center of the bedroom.
