Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Manhattan, and Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan Midtown West honestly surprised me in the best way. When you first walk up to 444 10th Avenue, it doesn’t scream luxury – I mean, the Hudson Yards area is still sort of finding its identity, you know? But step inside and this four-star property has this clean, modern vibe that feels way more polished than what you’d expect from the street view. The lobby’s got these warm wood accents and industrial touches that actually work together, which is harder to pull off than it sounds.

What really sold me on this place was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood. The front desk guy – think his name was Marcus – didn’t just point me toward Times Square like most hotels do. He sent me to this little Venezuelan spot on 9th Avenue that I never would’ve found otherwise, and honestly, it became my go-to dinner spot for the rest of the week. The rooms themselves are solid Sheraton quality – nothing groundbreaking, but the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious enough that you’re not bumping your elbows every time you brush your teeth. I had a corner room on the 12th floor and could actually see a sliver of the Hudson River if I pressed my face against the window just right.

Here’s the thing about staying in this part of New York – you’re close enough to all the tourist stuff without being right in the middle of the chaos. The High Line entrance is literally a five-minute walk, and you can get to Penn Station in about ten minutes if you’re heading out of town. I will say the area gets pretty quiet after business hours, which was perfect for me since I’m a light sleeper, but if you’re looking for that classic New York street energy at all hours, you might feel a bit isolated. The hotel gym is decent – not huge, but it has what you need, and they keep it clean. Oh, and parking is available in the building, which is a genuine miracle in this city, though it’ll cost you about what you’d expect for Manhattan. All in all, it’s one of those places where everything just works without any drama, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re dealing with the beautiful insanity of New York City.
