Sanctuary Hotel New York
You know what struck me first about Sanctuary Hotel New York?
You know what struck me first about Sanctuary Hotel New York? The lobby actually feels like a sanctuary – I mean, the name isn’t just marketing fluff. Walking in from the chaos of West 47th Street, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s honestly pretty rare in Midtown. The lighting is warm and moody, not that harsh fluorescent stuff you get in a lot of four-star places, and they’ve got these deep leather chairs that I definitely lingered in longer than necessary.
The location is what really makes this place work though. I’m talking proper Theater District here – you’re literally a two-minute walk from most of the big Broadway shows, and Times Square is right there if that’s your thing (though honestly, you’ll probably want to escape back to the hotel after about ten minutes in that tourist madness). What I really appreciated was being so close to Restaurant Row on 46th Street. After a show, you can actually snag a decent late dinner without trekking across town or settling for overpriced hotel room service. The staff seemed to get this too – they had solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps.
The rooms themselves are smaller than what you’d find in a suburban hotel, but that’s New York for you, and they’ve used the space smartly. Mine had this clever built-in desk setup and storage that didn’t feel cramped. The bed was legitimately comfortable – I mean, I slept through sirens and street noise, which says something. Speaking of noise, get a room facing the courtyard if you can swing it. The street-facing ones aren’t terrible, but 47th Street gets its share of late-night activity. The bathrooms are nicely updated with good water pressure, though the shower is definitely on the cozy side if you’re particularly tall. One thing that caught me off guard in a good way – the WiFi was fast enough that I could actually work from the room without wanting to throw my laptop out the window. Check-in was smooth too, even during what seemed like a busy weekend with half the lobby filled with theater-goers.
Hotels in New York offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of the Big Apple, with easy access to Wall Street, vibrant nightlife, and renowned attractions like Statue of Liberty.

Guest Reviews
Perfect location, exceptional staff, comfotable
The staff were unbelievable. Ben and eddy went above and beyond and deserve recognition, but every interaction with staff was incredible. Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The location is steps from Times Square and the bed was very comfy.
What could be improved: Continental breakfast was lacking. Some sort of protein option would have been excellent. Water in shower was quite hot (a good problem to have). These are minor issues for an otherwise tremendous stay.
"Sanctuary" is the Perfect Name!
Entering the property, we forgot we were smack in the middle of the city. The lobby is calm, dark, and beautifully scented—such a contrast from the busy streets outside. Our room was smaller than some we’ve had elsewhere in NY, but smartly designed so it never felt cramped. The staff were outstanding—friendly, helpful, and consistent from the doorman to housekeeping. I’ve already recommended this hotel to a friend and would happily stay again!
Good
Location. Staff & cleanliness
What could be improved: Small rooms. Open ensuite. Very dark decor. Poor breakfast choice
Great location, good price, nice room, restaurants were mediocre
Good location. Nice room
What could be improved: The, pay extra for breakfast was bagels and cream cheese, croissants, coffee. The food in the rooftop restaurant was mediocre.
Fantastic facilities in the perfect location

Very Good
The location was perfect, really close to Times Square and easy access to other parts of the city. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We also had partial view of Times Square. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: The breakfast was very average, only croissants, bagels and some fruits. I would have appreciated some eggs or other healthier options. We stayed 6 days and the food was the same every single day, no variety at all.
As to the room, we couldn’t open the windows but I guess it’s normal in New York.
Wonderful
Location, great vibe and superb food.
All Staff were so pleasant, friendly and approachable
Very comfortable & clean
What could be improved: It was quite noisy from the street but that is to be expected due to its position within the city
A night at the Sanctuary
Excellent location.
Reception staff lovely and helpful.
Everything in room spotless and comfortable.
What could be improved: Unable to use main light, couldn't find way to turn it on.
Unable to watch a film for free.
Only carbohydrates for breakfast.
Wonderful
Location couldn't be better. Its a very short walk to Times Square, so location also very near most of the main attractions e.g. Rockefeller, Broadway etc. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and more then willing to help with directions or any other questions. Room was clean and modern and serviced daily. Hotel was quiet at night, so helped us get a good night sleep.
What could be improved: Room had no view (looking at blank wall) so room felt dark all the time. Breakfast was adequate but would have been nice to get some hot food (e.g. eggs & bacon) as well. Room was a bit tight for 3 people but that is to be expected I suppose when you are so near the city center.
