Roxy Hotel New York
You know what caught me off guard about Roxy Hotel New York?
You know what caught me off guard about Roxy Hotel New York? Walking into this place on Avenue of the Americas, I was expecting another cookie-cutter boutique spot, but the vibe hits different – it’s got this unexpectedly intimate feel despite being right in the thick of New York‘s madness. The lobby actually feels like someone’s really cool apartment, with these vintage touches and worn leather chairs that don’t scream “hotel furniture.” I mean, you’re literally steps from the Canal Street chaos, but somehow they’ve created this little pocket where you can breathe.
The four-star rating makes sense when you experience the rooms – they’re on the smaller side (this is Manhattan, after all), but every inch is thoughtfully designed. The beds are legitimately comfortable, and I appreciated the blackout curtains because the street noise from Tribeca can get pretty intense, especially on weekends when people are bar-hopping. What really impressed me was the attention to sound insulation – you’d think being so close to major subway lines would be a nightmare, but honestly, once you’re inside, the city sort of fades into this pleasant background hum. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for what you’d expect in this neighborhood, with these great rain showers that actually have decent water pressure.
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of town – you’re genuinely in one of the best spots for exploring. I’d walk out the front door and be at Washington Square Park in fifteen minutes, or head the other direction toward Stone Street for dinner. The hotel staff knows this area inside and out, too. When I mentioned wanting good coffee that wasn’t Starbucks, the front desk guy immediately pointed me toward this little spot on Greenwich Street that locals actually frequent. That kind of local knowledge really matters when you’re trying to experience the city like someone who lives here, not just passing through. The whole experience feels less like staying at a hotel and more like crashing at a friend’s place – if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and lived in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the city. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself hanging out in the lobby with a drink, watching other travelers and locals mix together naturally.

Live music every day. Clean.
What could be improved: Lady during check in was very rude, but rest of the staff were nice and helpful.
Stylish stay in central downtown location
Very spacious room by NYC standards, tastefully decorated in a distinctive style.
Great location, steps away from the ACE subway station (which you can take all the way to JFK Airtrain), and within a 30 min walk to most of the downtown neighborhoods. There are plenty of great places to eat in the area, from fancy restaurants to popular breakfast joints.
Fun hotel lobby with live music and bar open till late at night. We didn't find the noise to be disturbing, but we were on the top floor.
Staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Zilliah when we checked in.
We stayed on a rather quiet week I guess, because we got a great rate. For us the room room was a really good value.
What could be improved: Room could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly.
Pillows were a bit too soft for our taste, but otherwise the bed was very comfy.
It was a great place to stay. Food was great!
atmosphere
What could be improved: homeless people hanging out near bathrooms/lobby
Excellent stay in Tribeca
Roxy Hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel is very well kept, with spacious rooms. I particularly appreciated the lively atmosphere: every night there is live music. Staff is really friendly and cares about your benefit. I received a call from the front desk, minutes after having entered the room to see if everything was ok. They were also extremely friendly and supportive: I had to reschedule my trip due to a cancellation of my flights and they helped me reorganise the trip. I definitely suggest going
What could be improved: Wee, honestly the price is high. But in New York I guess is impossible to get a decent room at a decent price. Also, during the night the music from the hall, even though the room has a sound cancellation system, sometimes is audible, but at 10pm they stop it.
We had a great stay and also enjoyed the night at the Django
Location and the style of the hotel.
What could be improved: Multiple stuff went wrong but everything was fixed with good solutions like a coupon for breakfast or drinks. Staff was helpful
