Radio City Apartments
I'll be honest - when I first walked up to Radio City Apartments on West 49th Street, I wasn't expecting much from what looked like just another Midtown building.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Radio City Apartments on West 49th Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another Midtown building. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location is absolutely unbeatable (I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Radio City Music Hall), and for a three-star property, it punches way above its weight.
What really sets this place apart is that it feels more like having your own apartment in New York than staying in a typical hotel. The units I’ve seen have proper kitchenettes – not those sad little mini-fridges and coffee makers you usually get, but actual counter space where you can spread out your bodega haul or leftover pizza. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for Manhattan standards, which honestly shocked me the first time I stayed there. You can actually open a suitcase without having to climb over it to get to the bathroom. The windows face different directions depending on which unit you get, but even the ones facing the building next door let in decent light – something that’s pretty rare in this part of town.
The staff has this refreshingly no-nonsense approach that feels very New York in the best way. They’ll give you straight answers about everything from where to find good coffee at 6 AM (there’s a cart guy on the corner who makes surprisingly decent espresso) to which subway entrance to use to avoid the tourist crowds. I’ve stayed here during both busy theater season and quieter winter months, and the vibe stays consistently relaxed. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise – it’s 49th Street, not a meditation retreat – but it’s that familiar city hum that actually helps me sleep better than dead silence would. The building itself has this old-school New York character without feeling run-down, and honestly, the whole experience just feels authentic in a way that a lot of Midtown hotels don’t. If you want to feel like a temporary local rather than a tourist passing through, this is your spot.

Fantastic stay which is why we come back regularly
Nice ambience . Good state of decoration. Rooms nicely furnished. Only minor issue was only one lift functional for most of our stay so delays.
Staff polite, helpful and friendly at all times
What could be improved: Minor inconvenience of decorating going on.
Excellent and very good value for money
Absolutely amazing location. Smart entrance. Friendly staff who completed free upgrade. Very large room with kitchen and bathroom. Spacious, clean and comfortable.
Great location and great place to stay; would stay again.
You can’t beat the location! Right around the corner from Rockefeller Center and multiple subway stations nearby. Super easy to navigate. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice, comfortable room.
What could be improved: Some renovations and only 1 functioning elevator, but very minimal disruption.
Love this hotel, we try and stay here each time we come to the city
The staff, location and the fact it has a kitchenette! The new decor is great!
What could be improved: Unfortunately there are only 2 elevators and one was out of service during this stay only. Also on this trip they are remodeling the hotel but again that will only be for a short time.
Very Good
Amaizing location. Everything nearby in a walk distance (5-20 min). A lot of places with affotdable food.
What could be improved: Elevator was broken
Wonderful
Excellent position in Times Square, close to metro and main attractions
Great stay! Safe, roomy, comfortable, and affordable. Location couldn't be better.
The location is wonderful. My teen daughter and I spent a week exploring. We saw shows, had great meals, wandered through museums, Central Park, and the zoo. Friends in Brooklyn were an easy Uber away.
Our studio was spacious and clean. The kitchenette came in very handy with groceries and pizza right there. And when I decided, a week before our trip, to extend our stay, Tina was wonderful and made it happen.
We will definitely return.
Great Vacation
Close to Times Square
Very clean hotel
What could be improved: Not enough elevators. Staff needed to use elevators so that limited getting an elevator in a reasonable amount of time. Staff needed wasn’t pleasant
Exceptional

Our stay was amazing and would gladly book this hotel again.
Fantastic location, Friendly and helpful staff, Room was clean and perfect for what we needed.
What could be improved: Nothing.
