Hotel Shocard Broadway, Times Square
You know what struck me first about Hotel Shocard Broadway, Times Square?
You know what struck me first about Hotel Shocard Broadway, Times Square? It’s actually tucked away on 41st Street in a way that feels almost… sneaky for being so close to all the madness. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the heart of Times Square, but when you duck into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense of “okay, I can breathe again.”
The thing about this three-star place is that it knows exactly what it is – no pretense, no trying to be the Plaza. The rooms are clean and functional, though honestly, if you’re the type who needs a lot of space to spread out, you might feel a bit cramped. But here’s what I really appreciated: the windows actually block out a decent amount of street noise, which in New York is basically a miracle. I stayed on the sixth floor and could barely hear the sirens that seem to run 24/7 around here. The AC works well too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up.
Location-wise, this is where the hotel really shines without shouting about it. You’re right there on the western edge of Times Square chaos, but you can also slip over to Hell’s Kitchen for dinner in about five minutes on foot. I discovered this little coffee spot called Joe Coffee just around the corner that became my morning ritual – way better than anything you’ll find in the tourist trap radius. And if you need to grab groceries or pharmacy stuff, there’s a Duane Reade practically next door, plus a decent bodega that stays open late. The subway situation is pretty solid too – you’ve got multiple lines within a few blocks, so getting around the city doesn’t require any grand planning. Check-in was surprisingly smooth, even when I arrived during the afternoon rush. The front desk staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, which honestly made a bigger difference than I expected. Sure, the elevator is a bit slow and the hallway carpeting has seen better days, but the bones of the place are solid. It’s one of those hotels where you think “yeah, this works” rather than “wow, this is amazing” – and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway.

Very Good
Nice and clean. Great location
What could be improved: Very small room but nice and quiet
It is a small but comfy space in a good location.
Room was tiny, but clean and had all I needed. Location is right at Times Square, so good. No breakfast, just coffee.
What could be improved: I didn't like not being able to check-in until 4pm, but understand. The room was so tiny that there isn't much room to move, but that's what you get for the price in nYC.

Great location, easy check in and out, nice staff
What could be improved: Our room was on the 2nd floor so very dark and extremely small which wasn’t a huge deal but there was some kind of fan outside our window that was so ridiculously loud, we couldn’t sleep. Luckily I had ear plugs but my partner did not. We didn’t need to spend much time there so was ok but the noise and lack of sleep was not good. No one else mentioned this in their reviews so maybe just ask for a higher level room?
It was a great experience overall
People where nice and the place was clean too
What could be improved: My room was to small
