First Impressions
Walking into Park Lane New York feels like stepping into old-school Manhattan elegance — you know, the kind you see in movies but wonder if it actually exists anymore. Well, it does. This five-star hotel sits right on Central Park South, and I mean literally across from the park, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re dealing with the chaos of New York. The lobby has this understated luxury vibe that doesn’t scream for attention but quietly whispers “you’ve arrived.”
The Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re basically at the corner of Central Park and Fifth Avenue, which means you can walk to pretty much everything that matters. Columbus Circle is right there, Lincoln Center is a pleasant stroll, and Times Square is close enough when you want the madness but far enough away when you don’t. The couples who stay here absolutely get it — there’s something romantic about having Central Park as your backyard, especially during those early morning runs or evening walks when the city actually feels peaceful.
The Room Experience
I’ll be honest, the room sizes aren’t massive by suburban hotel standards, but this is Manhattan — space is premium real estate. What they lack in square footage, they make up for in thoughtful design and those beds everyone raves about. I actually slept better here than I have at hotels twice the price, and I’m usually pretty picky about mattresses. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the city-facing rooms have character — you’re watching New York do its thing from a front-row seat.
Morning Routine
The continental breakfast setup works well if you’re not expecting a full-blown brunch spread. It’s quality over quantity — good coffee, fresh pastries, the essentials done right. What I actually prefer is grabbing something light here and then wandering into the park with it, or hitting one of the nearby cafes that locals frequent. The restaurant scene in this neighborhood is incredible, from hole-in-the-wall delis to places where you need reservations weeks in advance.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the flashiest hotel in the city, and it’s not trying to be. What it offers is something increasingly rare — a genuine New York experience without the tourist trap feeling. The parking situation is handled well, which anyone who’s driven in Manhattan will appreciate, and the staff seems to actually know the neighborhood instead of just reading from a script. You’re paying for the location and the peace of mind that comes with staying somewhere that feels both sophisticated and real. When you walk out the front door and see Central Park stretching out in front of you, with the city humming behind you, it all makes sense.

All great. Second time at the hotel.
Location and cleanness
What could be improved: Elevators takes longer than usual
Front door staff are not easy to deal with
Great location and service but elevators were frustrating.
Great location and views.
What could be improved: It took an eternity to get an elevator. When heading to the lobby we took a car up multiple times because the ones coming down were 100% full.
Very Good
Location
What could be improved: The bar was closed as was the food service on ground level.
Great !
What could be improved: Only 3 elevators were working instead of 6 it took us 30 mins to get into an elevator at check out time at 11:00
Loved the hotel except for the elevator issues
Fantastic location and facilities
What could be improved: Three of the six elevators were broken during our stay, after breakfast it took us 39 minutes to get downstairs with our luggage due to this issue.
Probably the best view in Manhattan - worth paying for a park view
The location is fantastic and our room on the 44th floor with a panoramic park view was stunning
What could be improved: It’s a busy hotel, the reception area is like a bus station and the reception staff seem a bit frazzled and not super friendly
Lovely place - highly recommend
This hotel was perfectly located for our dinner at Per Se, a carriage ride in Central Park and seeing The Great Gatsby on Broadway. The hotel was clean and quiet, beds very comfortable and staff very efficient and friendly. We would certainly recommend staying here. We really appreciated that early check-in was available and also the offer to keep our bags for us after we checked out.
What could be improved: Sunday morning the elevators were very slow and frustrating.
Very Good
I recently stayed at Park Lane Hotel in New York and had a truly wonderful experience. My room with a city view was spacious, beautifully designed, and very welcoming – the perfect place to relax after a day in the city. The highlight was definitely the rooftop: absolutely spectacular, with breathtaking views over Central Park that made every moment unforgettable.
The hotel’s restaurants and bars were excellent, offering great food and drinks in a refined yet comfortable atmosphere. What really stood out, though, was the staff – incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
Overall, Park Lane Hotel combines comfort, elegance, and one of the best views in New York. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city!

Very comfortable beds and bedlinen.
Spacious room with lovely view towards Central Park
What could be improved: Drinks and food extremely expensive in the hotel.
No relaxed cafe area for breakfast.
No kettle for making hot drinks in room.
Exactly what we were looking for in out stay in New York
Location overlooking Central Park
What could be improved: Elevators took too long to arrive
