The Fifth Avenue Hotel
I'll be honest β when I first heard about The Fifth Avenue Hotel sitting on 28th Street, I was a bit confused by the name since it's actually not on Fifth Avenue at all.
I’ll be honest β when I first heard about The Fifth Avenue Hotel sitting on 28th Street, I was a bit confused by the name since it’s actually not on Fifth Avenue at all. But you know what? After staying there, I get it. This five-star place has that classic Fifth Avenue elegance, just tucked away in NoMad where you can actually breathe a little.
The location is actually brilliant once you figure out the neighborhood. NoMad (that’s North of Madison Square Park, if you’re wondering) has become this sweet spot that’s way more livable than Midtown but still puts you right in the thick of things. I mean, you’re a quick walk to Madison Square Garden, the Flatiron Building is right there, and honestly, some of the best restaurants in New York have quietly set up shop in this area. The hotel itself feels like it belongs β there’s this understated luxury thing going on that doesn’t scream “tourist trap” like some of the flashier places uptown. The building has character, you know? Not one of those glass towers that could be anywhere in the world.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to create this bubble of calm without making you feel disconnected. The rooms are genuinely quiet β and I’m someone who usually travels with earplugs because city hotels can be brutal. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. When I asked about late-night food options, the concierge didn’t just hand me a generic list but told me about this little Korean place around the corner that stays open until 2 AM. The check-in was smooth (I arrived early and they had my room ready, which never happens to me), and the whole vibe is just… sophisticated without being stuffy. I stayed during restaurant week in January, and the hotel felt busy but not chaotic β there’s something to be said for a place that can handle being full without falling apart. The only tiny thing that bugged me was the elevator situation during peak hours, but honestly, that’s pretty much every hotel in Manhattan. If you’re looking for that classic New York hotel experience but want to avoid the Times Square madness, this spot really delivers.

Wonderful
Fantastic hotel with everything done to a high level
What could be improved: Zero noise from the streets, but the room doors let in a lot of noise and the staff were particularly noisy early in the morning.
Best hotel !!! Unique and chic !
Excellent service, property and food.
Loved it.will come back for sure
Lovely, attentive and kind staff. Beautiful restaurant and bar.
Wonderful
Enjoyed my whole stay.
What could be improved: Thought the bed needed to be updated. Didn't provide good support on side by table. Think it's been overused.
Otherwise, it was fine.
Best hotel !!!
Loved it here! Such a great location and spacious room. Everyone was so lovely !
We already miss this beautiful hotel, especially the carefull put together staff.
Top Address in terms of welcome culture, staff like Concierge Richard, Paula from :) and all the others. New hotel with dignified style. Very clean and the restaurant is high class. The suite was really well furnished and equipped with modern components.
What could be improved: Suite perfect, the other room 1906? is really to small. Please next time if a family took a suite then please select a better room for the other half of the family. Better for inner family peace :)

Unbeatable service, excellent location, amazing dΓ©cor and comfort. Top-notch stay!
Pros: I lived 11 years in NYC and have stayed in several hotels since I moved out--the service in this hotel (front desk--special shoutout to Paola,--room service, waiters, bartenders, housekeeping) is top notch and probably its most memorable asset. I had asked for an early check-in (due to work-related purposes) prior to making my booking and they gave me my room at 8am, which is rarely the case anywhere. The location is great and the dΓ©cor is stunning. The restaurants and bars are excellent. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. You can control the lighting, TV, and room temperature from an iPad.
What could be improved: Cons: I'm not sure if this was an issue with our room per se, or with all rooms in general, but the shower's water pressure was not great.
Overall great location to visit NYC
NA Although I had a 11:45 I decided not to eat because I thought brunch was served during the weekend
Dinner reservation was excellent
Oasis kind of feel in the big apple
Exceptional facility, great interior design which makes all rooms feel warm and welcoming. However, the most amazing part was the staff, which definitely exceeds expectations that you have even for a good 5 star hotel. Really extraordinary! Restaurant and bar are amazing, and for as long as the inhouse gym is not fully functional (there are a few machines already available), they offer complimentary subscriptions for fitness classes (soulcycle, barrys, etc.). Definitely one of the best 5 star city hotels we have stayed in.
What could be improved: Not really the hotels fault: We booked the smallest room category, which we should have not done considering we had quite a lot of luggage (our fault). Upon giving this feedback during check out they said we should have told them and they would have checked on other rooms / upgrades if available. Again, very good service.
