Park Central
I'll be honest – when I first walked into Park Central, I wasn't expecting much from another Midtown hotel.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Park Central, I wasn’t expecting much from another Midtown hotel. But there’s something about this place that just works, you know? Maybe it’s the way the lobby feels both grand and approachable at the same time, or how the staff actually remembers your name after day two. The four-star rating feels about right – it’s polished without being stuffy.
The location on 7th Avenue is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without the Times Square chaos being right outside your window. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Carnegie Hall (I mean, you can practically hear the applause some nights), and Central Park is just a quick stroll north on 7th. What I really appreciate is how easy it is to grab a cab or hop on the subway – the N, Q, R, and W trains at 57th Street are right there. The rooms themselves surprised me – they’re more spacious than typical New York hotel rooms, and the beds are legitimately comfortable. I’ve stayed in places twice the price where I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep because of street noise, but the windows here actually do their job.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me before my first stay: the elevator bank can get pretty crowded during checkout time (around 11 AM), so plan accordingly if you’re in a rush. The fitness center is small but functional – don’t expect a full gym experience, but it’ll do for a quick workout. Room service is decent, though honestly, you’re surrounded by some of the best food in the city, so why would you stay in? Speaking of food, there’s a little coffee cart guy named Miguel who sets up on the corner of 56th and 7th every morning around 7 AM – locals know to skip the hotel coffee and grab one of his. The front desk staff will give you restaurant recommendations that go beyond the usual tourist spots, which I always appreciate. One thing that really sets this place apart is how they handle the small stuff – fresh towels without having to ask three times, decent water pressure, and air conditioning that actually works in August. It’s not the fanciest hotel you’ll ever stay in, but it gets the fundamentals right, and sometimes that matters more than marble bathrooms and celebrity chef restaurants.

Overall good
The location of was perfect and the room and bed adequate
What could be improved: Room service was slow such as Kettle and coffee maker, I had no tea bags which I have requested several times and each time I keep getting coffee sachets
Very Good
The location was perfect and the cleaner Maritza was very friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: No way of making a hot drink in the room. Lifts took a very long time.
Brilliant stay, close to all major tourist attractions and metro stations
Great location
Rooms cleaned daily
Very Good
Friendly staff, good location, clean and comfortable.
Overall fairly good but certainly does not feel like a 4-star hotel
The location was great, really spacious room and comfy beds. We had no issues with the lifts, we would only wait 1-2 minutes max. The price was pretty good for the location, given the average price for a stay in NYC.
What could be improved: Very dated interior with broken items (hairdryer (which we had to request, sent up two broken hairdryers which took over 30 mins each to arrive before calling for a third one which worked), ceiling light, room phone, bathroom mirror). Lady at the front desk was impolite. Overall would call this more of a three star hotel rather than four star.
Great place to visit New York City
This hotel is very well located to visit New York, just a couple of minutes from the South of Central Park, 10 minutes from Time Square and so on. Subway is close too. The staff is nice and helpful. The room is correct.
Perfect for a quick getaway, very accommodating for travelers!
The location was perfect and the surrounding diners were fantastic.
Good
Centrally located near subway
What could be improved: Only one elevator. Too full by the time it got down to 8. Had to take the stairs. Alarm clock was set to 6am.
