First Impressions
Walking up to Now Now NoHo on Bowery, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical three-star hotel experience. The building has this understated cool factor that fits perfectly with the neighborhood’s artistic vibe — you know, the kind of place where you don’t feel overdressed in your travel clothes but also wouldn’t be embarrassed to bring someone you’re trying to impress. Honestly, the entrance gives off more boutique vibes than the star rating might suggest.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about staying in NoHo — you’re basically in the sweet spot of Manhattan without the tourist chaos. I mean, you can walk to SoHo’s shopping in about five minutes, hit up the East Village for dinner, or catch the subway at Bleecker Street without breaking a sweat. The Bowery itself has transformed from its gritty past into this interesting mix of galleries, trendy spots, and just enough edge to keep things interesting. You’ll actually find yourself discovering little cafes and vintage shops just by wandering around the block.
The Room Experience
The room design is what really surprised me — clean lines, good lighting, and they actually thought about storage space (which, let’s be honest, most NYC hotels completely ignore). The beds are comfortable enough that you won’t spend your vacation complaining about your back, and the bathrooms are compact but well-designed. What I appreciated most was the attention to details like decent WiFi and outlets where you actually need them, plus blackout curtains that work — crucial when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag in a city that never dims.
Neighborhood Dining Scene
You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to food around here. There’s this great little restaurant called Peasant just a few blocks away that does amazing Italian, or you can grab incredible ramen at Ippudo nearby. The beauty of this location is that you can easily walk to Nolita for brunch, hit up Little Italy for dinner, or venture into the East Village for late-night eats. I found myself barely using delivery apps because everything good was within walking distance.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is that it strikes this perfect balance — you get the authentic New York neighborhood experience without sacrificing comfort or convenience. The staff seems to actually know the area and can point you toward hidden gems rather than just the obvious tourist spots. Plus, the fact that couples rate it so highly tells you something about the vibe — it’s intimate enough for romance but energetic enough that you won’t feel like you’re missing out on the city’s pulse. For the price point and location, you’re getting way more character and local flavor than you’d find in the more generic options in Midtown.

Guest Reviews
The location is excellent. It’s within walking distance of 2 metro stations and great if you’re spending time in the Lower East Side. The beds were comfortable and the room had some thoughtful features like eye shades and a white noise machine.
What could be improved: There are no ceilings to the rooms, so you can hear everything the people around you are doing. Some of the doors didn’t fit very well into their frames so people had to slam their doors to close them. I had ear plugs, which helped a lot, but I wouldn’t recommend this for people who are sensitive to noise. The rooms were also TINY. I’m a small person and I often found myself in weird contortions just to fit in the room.
Clean and good location
What could be improved: When other close the doors there is great noise. Consider changing the locks to quiet.
Property was clean and had a very comfortable bed.
What could be improved: I did not like that luggage room was downstairs.
The design was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful, even allowing a very early checkin as my room was available. The whole hotel was very clean. Toilets were always available and I only had to wait briefly once for a shower to become available. The location was also great.
What could be improved: The rooms are even tinier than you can imagine. I don’t think they are suitable for anything bigger than a carry on. Given this, the lockers should be free, they are quite pricey and this isn’t mentioned in the listing.
It can be quite noisy, but this is dependent on the consideration of other guests - I had a few incidents of people talking on cellphones, using hairdryers late at night and chatting loudly in the bathrooms. No chance of sleeping between 9am and 4pm due to housekeeping (although I think I was next to the housekeeping closet). This seems like a lot of complaints, but for the right price and a short stay with minimal luggage it is worth it!
Everything is comfortable. If you need to wash hair everyday, there is only a hairdryer downstairs, quite inconvenient.
Great location and very clean. Staff is very attentive. The MagSafe charge built into the cabinet was an inspired appreciated choice.
What could be improved: A few small tweaks would make the stay exceptional. A mirror in the shower for shaving. Figuring out a way to reduce the noise of doors opening and closing, instructions for use of the locking “safe” (cabinet).
I loved the location, the coziness of the rooms and the staff who were super helpful!
What could be improved: I think there should be a room for bag storage as it can be quite cramped in the rooms, I also think lockers should be free. I had trouble checking in then had to use the lockers, I had to leave it there for 6 hours so it added up.
Really nice location, cute decorations and the concept. Clean showers, comfortable bed
What could be improved: There is no soundproofing between the cabins (wont call it “rooms”), so you hear quite literally everything. My main discomfort point is coming from 0 ventilation in the rooms. Because it’s quite a few people on the floor and there is no ceiling between the cabins, no windows and fans, it got very stuffy very quickly
Petit but exquisite 🤩
Super clean, friendly and attentive staff. Strategically located, close to the subway and walking distance to lots of interesting points.
Ideal for solo & practical travelers. The bed was really comfortable, and even though the concept of the rooms is like a shared ambience, I did rest very good at night. Stayed for 9 nights so… I can tell.
Very nice experience. Loved the Deco & Design in every little single thing.
I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to NYC.
Pods are tiny. I had a suitcase and it was very difficult fitting it in the room. Having said that, if you were travelling with anything smaller, you would be fine. No elevator so getting my suitcase up the stairs was a bit of an issue. Room was comfortable and I liked the privacy with a locked door. Bathrooms were always clean and there was never a problem getting an available shower or toilet. I loved the concept. Much cheaper alternative and had everything you need when travelling alone. Close to subway stations and easy access to wherever else you needed to get to. Would stay again.
