M Social New York Downtown – formerly Millennium Downtown New York
M Social New York Downtown sits right in the heart of the Financial District on Church Street, and honestly, the first thing that hits you when you walk in is how much this place has evolved from its former Millennium days.
M Social New York Downtown sits right in the heart of the Financial District on Church Street, and honestly, the first thing that hits you when you walk in is how much this place has evolved from its former Millennium days. The lobby’s got this sleek, contemporary vibe that feels very “New York professional” without being stuffy – I mean, you’ll see Wall Street types grabbing coffee next to tourists planning their day, and somehow it all works.
The location is actually brilliant if you know your way around lower Manhattan. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the 9/11 Memorial, and Stone Street – one of my favorite cobblestone stretches for grabbing a beer after work – is right around the corner. The subway connections are solid too; you’ve got the R and W trains at Cortlandt Street practically next door, which makes getting uptown way easier than you’d expect from down here. What I really appreciate is that you’re in New York proper but not dealing with the Times Square chaos – the Financial District actually gets pretty quiet after business hours, so you can actually sleep.
The rooms in this four-star property are definitely on the smaller side (this is Manhattan, after all), but they’re smartly designed with clean lines and decent storage. The beds are comfortable enough, and the bathrooms feel modern – though don’t expect a huge soaking tub or anything fancy like that. You know what’s nice though? The views from the higher floors can be pretty spectacular, especially if you score a room facing toward the harbor. I’ve stayed here during both summer and winter, and the heating/cooling system works well, which honestly isn’t something you can take for granted in older NYC buildings. The WiFi is reliable, and there are plenty of outlets near the desk area, which matters if you’re here on business.
Service-wise, the front desk staff knows their stuff about the neighborhood – they’ll point you toward the good spots on Stone Street or tell you the fastest way to get to Brooklyn Bridge without looking at you like you’re bothering them. Check-in is usually smooth, though I’d avoid arriving during the afternoon rush when business travelers are all trying to get settled. The fitness center is small but functional, and there’s a restaurant on-site that’s decent for breakfast, though you’re honestly better off exploring the area – there are some fantastic lunch spots tucked into the narrow streets around here that most tourists never find. Parking is available but expensive (welcome to lower Manhattan), so I’d honestly recommend just using the subway system once you’re here.

Wonderful
The room was small. The bathroom was a nice size and functional. The beds were very comfortable and room service kept us nice and neat. The picture is the view from our window. It was very nice.
What could be improved: I'm sure the facility will be very nice once the first floor lobby is completed. The third floor lobby was very nice. It was a nice touch to have a little live entertainment in there over the weekend. Breakfast was a little expensive for us. $9 for a cup of coffee is a bit much. Once the phone system is fixed that won't be a nice touch too.
We would absolutely book again, this hotel was gorgeous
The location was great, all of the staff was very nice, & it was very clean and had an amazing view!
What could be improved: Unfortunately our tv did not work, it was very pixeley but we worked around it. The elevator also goes so extremely fast it’s kind of funny
Overnight stay
Fantastic location and great views from our corner room.
What could be improved: Overall the hotel was lovely but the shower did lack some shower pressure and was poor.
Good
I loved the grab and go breakfast. But of course also the views from our room were absolutely unbeatable.
What could be improved: The maintenance going on, it was noted to be when booking this renovation that the hotel would be going through a complete remodel. In addition our soaps were completely out the day we checked in.
Great place to stay in the financial district
Location-good places to shop around, lots of subway stops and buses even the tourist buses. Staff at the entrance, very friendly and helpful.
Very fast and efficient lift, room had a great view of WTC and the Hudson, and the amenities were really to my taste, fast check in and checkout. Nice lounge area.
What could be improved: Limited meal options in the hotel but there are places to eat around, I just like room service after a long trip
Great hotel, incredible location and would highly recommend
We had a different setup than the picture but it was an incredible view, bed could be more comfortable and AC could work better but 10/10
What could be improved: The window was dirty by the AC on the outside obstructing an entire panel view the whole stay
Very Good
Very clean and nice interior
What could be improved: Only minor was that After the second day we received no face towels anymore
Stunning views and vibrant location
Unbeatable views and convenient downtown location.
Easy access to subway station.
Steps away from shopping and great food choices .
What could be improved: Currently ongoing renovation
Wonderful
Kamer op de 30ste verdieping, a room with a view!

An excellent stay. Wonderful hotel and staff.
Right next to the 9/11 Memorial.
What could be improved: Nothing! Everything was excellent.
