Concorde Hotel New York
I'll be honest – when I first walked into Concorde Hotel New York, I wasn't expecting much from the relatively modest entrance on East 55th Street.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Concorde Hotel New York, I wasn’t expecting much from the relatively modest entrance on East 55th Street. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in understated packages. This four-star gem sits right in the heart of Midtown East, and I mean literally heart – you’re sandwiched between some of the city’s best shopping and dining, with Central Park just a few blocks north when you need to escape the concrete jungle.
The location is actually brilliant if you think about it. You’re close enough to Times Square that tourists won’t feel left out (it’s maybe a 15-minute walk), but far enough away that you won’t hear the Elmo costumes arguing at 2 AM. I spent most evenings wandering down to Lexington Avenue for dinner – there’s this little Italian place around the corner that locals frequent, plus you’re practically next door to Bloomingdale’s if shopping is your thing. The subway access is solid too; the 51st Street station puts you on the 4, 5, and 6 lines, which honestly gets you anywhere you need to go in New York without much hassle.
What really won me over, though, was how the staff seemed to actually care about getting the details right. Check-in was smooth – no standing around waiting while they “find your reservation” – and the front desk folks knew their neighborhood well enough to give real recommendations, not just the touristy stuff everyone suggests. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a well-run four-star: clean, comfortable, with that slightly European feel that makes sense given the name. The beds are actually good (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are updated without being flashy. I mean, you’re not getting penthouse luxury here, but everything works and feels thoughtfully maintained. The noise level surprised me too – despite being on a busy street, the windows do their job well enough that I slept fine. Honestly, for a hotel in this part of Manhattan with an 8.8 rating, you’re getting solid value without any major compromises. It’s the kind of place where you check in, settle in easily, and spend your time exploring the city instead of dealing with hotel headaches.
Best hotels in New York range from luxurious Manhattan penthouses with Central Park views to boutique hotels in trendy Brooklyn neighborhoods and classic midtown properties near Broadway theaters.

Guest Reviews
Photos and reviews do the hotel justice!
I stayed here with my boyfriend for 7 days. We had a fantastic stay! It was pretty much faultless. I’m quite particular about hotels especially safety and cleanliness. As someone who has spent countless hours researching and booking hotels for my trip to New York I stumbled across The Concorde. This hotel was wonderfully located, clean and spacious. I was worried about fake reviews etc as it’s so rare to find genuine reviews these days. I had so many hotels booked and decided that the Concorde was the one I was going to keep! I cannot tell you how relieved I was upon stepping foot in the hotel. The pictures and reviews actually do this hotel justice - it was very refreshing. The room was simple (as in not too busy with unnecessary knick knacks) and clean (something I value quite highly) and it was kept immaculate by those working there. There was a nespresso machine, a mini fridge and free coffee and water on the 3rd floor. All really small but nice touches that elevated the stay. The hotel staff are friendly, welcoming and super helpful. I also felt very safe.
My main takeaway is that it was just a very nice and pleasant hotel. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat. Cannot recommend enough !!! Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
What could be improved: There is little I can fault. If I’m being really picky I’d say remember to put your privacy sign on the door as sometimes housekeeping come quite early (before 9am) - which isn’t the most ideal if you’re jet lagged! Also there are only two lifts so sometimes there is a small wait. I understand these can’t really be helped and it definitely did not impact my stay!
I would go back without hesitation
Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms
Wonderful
Excellent, calm location, but near several subway stations.
Interesting layout of the room, plenty of space.
What could be improved: Queen bed was a bit narrow for two people.
A bit poor choice of breakfast.
Great stay in the heart of Manhattan!
Great and helpful stuff, great location, clean room, comfortable bed.
What could be improved: There is no closet (just one locker with hangers and the hotel safe on bottom and with iron in there) so we must’ve kept half of our clothes outside on bed or sofa.
I’ve stayed here several times. It’s the most convenient place for me in New York. The people are very nice.
Very convenient to public transportation. They also have a nice little mini restaurant in the lobby.
What could be improved: Elevators are a little slow
Exceptional
Location , staff, clean
What could be improved: Nothing
Would stay again but you need to coordinate the staff use of elevators
Really clean and new. The bathroom was nice which is important to me
What could be improved: The elevators took forever. When the staff is checking in the rooms or doing whatever they were doing they took both elevators and I had to wait forever for it. Then I see 2 staff members come out with clipboards and iPad devises, one in each elevator
Exceptional
Staff on reception were amazing and always extremely friendly.
What could be improved: Tiny thing... more English breakfast tea in room
Very pleasant although the room was one of the smaller ones I’ve had.
Convenient location. Modern and clean.
What could be improved: Less room amenities. I realize due to environmental concerns small toiletries are not given, but when the hotel is of a higher quality and cost it is certainly nice to offer them.
Perfect boutique hotel!
A little gem close to all. Clean updated lovely staff. I will def stay here again and would recommend it to all
