Martinique New York on Broadway, Curio Collection by Hilton
I'll be honest – when I first walked into Martinique New York on Broadway, Curio Collection by Hilton, I wasn't expecting much from the exterior.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Martinique New York on Broadway, Curio Collection by Hilton, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. It’s tucked on West 32nd Street in a way that makes it easy to miss, but that actually turned out to be one of its best features. You’re literally steps from Herald Square and Penn Station, which sounds chaotic (and yeah, it can be), but the hotel itself feels like this calm pocket away from all that madness.
The thing that really got me was how they’ve preserved so much of the original character – this place has been around since 1897, and you can feel that history the moment you step into the lobby. The marble floors and ornate details aren’t just for show; they tell a story that most four-star hotels in the city completely lack. I mean, you’ve got tourists rushing past outside to catch their Broadway shows, but inside it’s surprisingly peaceful. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully updated – they kept the high ceilings and architectural details but added modern touches that actually work. My room faced west, so I got decent light without the street noise that can drive you crazy in this part of New York.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that most guests are here for a reason – whether that’s a show at Madison Square Garden (which is practically next door) or meetings in Midtown. They’re not trying to sell you on spa packages or rooftop experiences you don’t need. Instead, they focus on the basics done really well: fast WiFi, solid shower pressure, and a front desk that can actually help you figure out subway routes without making you feel stupid. The fitness center is small but functional, and honestly, that’s all you need when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city anyway. One thing to note – if you’re driving, parking is going to cost you, but that’s true anywhere in this neighborhood. I’d say skip the car entirely and embrace the fact that you can walk to Times Square in about ten minutes, or catch a train to anywhere in the city right from Penn Station downstairs.
