Le Meridien New York, Central Park
Honestly, when I first walked into Le Meridien New York, Central Park, I wasn't sure what to expect – I mean, there are so many hotels claiming prime real estate around here.
Honestly, when I first walked into Le Meridien New York, Central Park, I wasn’t sure what to expect – I mean, there are so many hotels claiming prime real estate around here. But this five-star spot on West 57th really does deliver on location, even if it doesn’t scream luxury the second you step inside. You know what struck me first? The lobby has this understated European vibe that feels refreshingly calm compared to the typical Manhattan hotel chaos. It’s not trying too hard, which I actually appreciated after dealing with some of the more over-the-top places in the area.
The rooms are where this place really wins you over, though. I stayed on the 18th floor facing north, and honestly, the view toward Central Park made me forget about the slightly cramped bathroom situation. The beds are seriously comfortable – like, sink-into-them-and-lose-three-hours comfortable – and the blackout curtains actually work, which is crucial when you’re dealing with all those New York street lights. What I loved most was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re literally steps from Carnegie Hall and all the tourist madness around Columbus Circle. The soundproofing is legit, probably because the building itself is solid – you can feel it’s built to last, not like some of those newer glass towers that seem to shake when a truck passes.
Speaking of location, this is where the hotel really shines. You’re a two-minute walk from the subway at 57th and 7th, which means you can actually get around without dealing with Midtown traffic. I found myself grabbing coffee at that little place on 58th before heading into the park for morning runs – something you just can’t do from most Manhattan hotels without a serious trek. The staff seemed genuinely familiar with the neighborhood too, not just reciting rehearsed recommendations. When I asked about dinner spots, the concierge pointed me toward a tiny Italian place on 56th that locals actually go to, not just tourists. Sure, the hotel restaurant is fine if you’re tired, but honestly, you’re surrounded by better options. The fitness center is small but functional – I mean, you’ve got Central Park right there anyway, so who needs a massive gym? Just know that parking is going to cost you, and valet service can be slow during peak times, so maybe plan accordingly if you’re driving in.
Hotel in New York booking should be done early, especially during holiday seasons when the city hosts internationally celebrated events and concerts at Madison Square Garden and other iconic venues.

Clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient location.
Clean and comfortable room. It was quiet and a very pleasant stay.
What could be improved: Nothing I didn’t like. It was very nice and I would stay again. I was a little shocked by the additional $40 per night fee payable upon check-in. While this could be used for drinks at two available bars, I did feel a bit surprised to have another fee to pay when the price on Bookings had apparently already included taxes and fees.
Great location near tons of attractions
Great location. Friendly staff. Great rooftop restaurant
What could be improved: The pillows, but that goes for any hotel pillow. Do not like feather pillows
