First Impressions
Walking into Le Meridien New York, Central Park feels like stepping into one of those sleek European hotels that somehow landed perfectly in Midtown Manhattan. The lobby has this sophisticated, almost gallery-like atmosphere — you know, the kind where you immediately feel a bit more cultured just standing there. It’s a five-star property that doesn’t scream luxury at you, but rather whispers it through thoughtful design details and that unmistakable French hospitality approach that Le Meridien is known for.
The Heart of Manhattan
Honestly, the location on West 57th Street is pretty spectacular. You’re literally steps from Central Park — I mean, you can see the trees from some rooms — and Carnegie Hall is practically next door. What I love about this spot in New York is that you’re close enough to Times Square to walk there (about 10 minutes), but far enough away that you won’t hear the chaos at night. The subway connections are solid too, with multiple lines within a few blocks, which makes getting around the city actually pleasant rather than stressful.
The Room Experience
The rooms here have this clean, contemporary feel that works really well after a long day of city exploration. My room had floor-to-ceiling windows that made the space feel much larger than typical Manhattan hotel rooms — and trust me, that’s saying something. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathrooms feature those rainfall showers that you’ll actually want to linger in. There’s also plenty of parking available if you’re brave enough to drive in the city, though honestly, you won’t need a car from this location.
Dining and Amenities
The breakfast situation is actually quite impressive — they offer continental, vegetarian, gluten-free, and American options, so pretty much everyone’s covered. The hotel restaurant has this modern brasserie vibe that feels authentically French without being pretentious about it. What really stands out is their approach to service; the staff seems to genuinely understand that travelers need different things at different times, whether that’s restaurant recommendations or help navigating the subway system.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really makes this place work? It’s that sweet spot between luxury and livability. Couples especially seem to appreciate the location — apparently they rate it 8.8 for romantic getaways, and I can see why. You can stroll through Central Park in the morning, catch a show at Carnegie Hall in the evening, and still feel like you’re staying somewhere special rather than just convenient. The overall location score of 8.9 isn’t just marketing fluff — it reflects how well-positioned you are to experience the best of Manhattan without feeling overwhelmed by it. It’s the kind of place where you’ll actually want to come back to your room at the end of the day, rather than just crash there out of necessity.
Hotel in New York booking should be done early, especially during holiday seasons when the city hosts internationally celebrated events and concerts at Madison Square Garden and other iconic venues.

Clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient location.
Clean and comfortable room. It was quiet and a very pleasant stay.
What could be improved: Nothing I didn’t like. It was very nice and I would stay again. I was a little shocked by the additional $40 per night fee payable upon check-in. While this could be used for drinks at two available bars, I did feel a bit surprised to have another fee to pay when the price on Bookings had apparently already included taxes and fees.
Great location near tons of attractions
Great location. Friendly staff. Great rooftop restaurant
What could be improved: The pillows, but that goes for any hotel pillow. Do not like feather pillows
