First Impressions
Walking into the InterContinental New York Times Square, an IHG Hotel feels like stepping into the pulse of Manhattan itself. This four-star property sits right on West 44th Street in Hell’s Kitchen — honestly, you can’t get much more central than this. The lobby has that polished, modern feel you’d expect from an InterContinental, but what really hits you is how the energy of Times Square somehow manages to feel exciting rather than overwhelming when you’re inside.
Location That Actually Matters
I mean, let’s talk about why this spot works so well. You’re literally in the heart of New York, with Broadway theaters practically at your doorstep — I walked to three different shows during my stay without breaking a sweat. Hell’s Kitchen has become this incredible food destination, and you’ll find everything from hole-in-the-wall gems to celebrity chef spots within a few blocks. The subway access is fantastic too, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re trying to explore the city without spending a fortune on taxis.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was on the 20th floor, and you know what surprised me? How quiet it was despite being in the middle of everything. The soundproofing actually works, which is no small feat in this neighborhood. The space felt modern and well-thought-out — not huge by any means (this is Manhattan, after all), but cleverly designed with good lighting and a workspace that I actually used. The bathroom was sleek, and the shower pressure was solid, which I always appreciate after walking around the city all day.
Dining and Amenities
Breakfast here offers several options — continental, American, buffet, or grab-and-go if you’re rushing to catch a morning show or meeting. I tried the buffet once and found it perfectly adequate, though honestly, with so many incredible breakfast spots in Hell’s Kitchen, I ended up exploring the neighborhood most mornings instead. The hotel restaurant serves decent food, but again, you’re surrounded by some of the best dining in the city. There’s also parking available, which is actually a big deal if you’re driving into the city — though I’d question why you’d want to deal with Manhattan traffic when the location gives you such great public transit access.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is how it balances being right in the thick of things without feeling chaotic. Couples especially seem to love it here — and I can see why, since you can easily walk to dinner, catch a show, and still feel like you’re staying somewhere that feels like a proper retreat from the city madness. The staff knows the area well and can point you toward the good stuff, whether that’s the best pre-theater dinner spots or which subway entrance to use to avoid the Times Square crowds. It’s that sweet spot where you get the full New York experience without the headaches that usually come with staying in such a central location.

Guest Reviews
Clean, spacious rooms, great location, courteous staff. Awesome views
Great Location, Close to everything. The bed was so comfy.
just location
Very close to everything. I really like this hotel.
Quiet. Great location for theater.
Beautifully presented - clean and modern
Perfect location, it is just next to subway
I liked the location of the hotel to the 7 subway so that I could go to US Open. Bed was extremely comfortable. Elevators weren't crowded or hard to access like in other hotels. Had a small perk with the hotel credit to use for the restaurant, bar, or in-room treats. Quiet. Not a lot of traffic in the hotel which was nice.
