First Impressions
Walking up to The Beekman Tower, Trademark Collection by Wyndham on Mitchell Place, you immediately notice how this four-star property feels different from the typical Midtown hotel experience. The building has this classic New York residential tower vibe — honestly, it looks more like an upscale apartment building than a traditional hotel, which actually works in its favor. You’re right in the heart of Midtown East, but tucked away on a quieter side street that locals know well.
Location & Neighborhood
The location is honestly what makes this place shine — and I mean, couples rate it 9.0 for good reason. You’re literally steps from the UN headquarters, which means you get that international energy without the Times Square chaos. Grand Central is maybe a 10-minute walk, and you know what? That puts you within easy reach of everything while keeping you in one of New York’s more sophisticated pockets. The neighborhood has this residential feel during evenings, but you’re still close enough to grab dinner in Koreatown or hit up some of the better cocktail spots on the East Side.
The Room Experience
Here’s where things get interesting — the room setups feel more like extended-stay apartments than typical hotel rooms. Most units come with proper kitchenettes, which is actually pretty rare for this area and price point. The space feels generous by Manhattan standards, and the windows give you decent city views (though don’t expect anything too dramatic). I mean, the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, but it’s comfortable and functional in that understated way that works well for both business travelers and couples on longer stays.
Amenities & Services
The building keeps things straightforward — there’s a fitness center that’s adequate, though nothing fancy, and the front desk staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood well. What I appreciate is that they don’t try to oversell amenities they don’t have. There’s no on-site restaurant, but honestly, you’re in one of the best food neighborhoods in the city, so that’s hardly a problem. The lobby has this quiet, almost residential feel that I find refreshing after dealing with the typical Midtown hotel circus.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the flashiest hotel in the city, but it delivers on what matters most — location, space, and that slightly-off-the-beaten-path feel that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually choose. The fact that recent guests consistently rate the location so highly tells you everything you need to know. You get easy access to major transportation, you’re walking distance to some genuinely great restaurants, and you can actually get a decent night’s sleep without sirens every five minutes. For the price point in this part of Manhattan, that combination is harder to find than you’d think.

What could be improved: Nothing
It’s an old building so don’t expect shinny and new! Overall a fantastic stay and I would recommend. Location: we walked
Lots of space with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom
What could be improved: Gym is limited
Very Good
The room had a balcony. Great view from 20th floor. Great space - much better than a typical hotel.
What could be improved: Music at rooftop lounge was extremely loud.
feeling safe and respected.
The receptionists especially Mr. Ayman and Hector, the location is excellent, respecting the privacy of the guests.
What could be improved: The furniture needs to be changed and the shower needs to be renovated in the apartment.
Quaint Property, good location, wonderful staff
The people that work here are outstanding and seem really happy with their job- like literally all of them. They had free laundry with lots of machines and give you detergent! They collected packages, the gym is pretty great. I had to leave early and they checked me out no problem.
What could be improved: The only downside is that NYC is in a heat wave and the A/C units started breaking down. My room went from 70 to 84 in about 2 hours because the building faces the day sun. Even with the windows covered it didn’t help. The crew was trying hard to fix things- but I’m not sure if my room was ever fixed (I left early). Still a fantastic hotel.
Great!
Second visit and long stay for us. That says all.
What could be improved: May be get a better coffee machine in the lobby
