The Beekman Tower, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
I'll be honest – when I first walked into The Beekman Tower, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, I wasn't sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away on Mitchell Place.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into The Beekman Tower, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away on Mitchell Place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones hiding in plain sight in Midtown East, and this place turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve found something the tour groups haven’t discovered yet.
The location is actually pretty brilliant once you figure out the neighborhood. You’re basically a stone’s throw from the UN headquarters (which means fantastic people-watching, by the way), and Mitchell Place itself is this quiet little side street that feels worlds away from the chaos of Times Square. I mean, you can still get everywhere you need to go – Grand Central is an easy walk, and the subway connections at 51st and Lex put you practically anywhere in New York within minutes. What I really appreciated, though, was coming back after long days of sightseeing to a street that actually quiets down in the evenings. The traffic noise fades to more of a gentle hum rather than that constant honking you get closer to the main avenues.
The rooms themselves have this sort of understated elegance that works really well – not trying too hard to be trendy, but comfortable in a way that makes you want to linger over morning coffee instead of rushing out. The windows are surprisingly large for Manhattan, and if you get lucky with a higher floor, you’ll catch glimpses of the East River between the buildings. Honestly, the staff seemed to genuinely care about making sure everything worked smoothly, which isn’t always a given even at well-rated places these days. Check-in was refreshingly efficient, and they actually remembered my name when I passed through the lobby later. Small thing, maybe, but it matters when you’re dealing with that particular brand of exhaustion that comes from navigating the city all day. The whole experience felt more personal than corporate, if that makes sense – like staying somewhere that happens to be professionally run rather than somewhere that’s trying to impress you with how professional they are.

What could be improved: Nothing
It’s an old building so don’t expect shinny and new! Overall a fantastic stay and I would recommend. Location: we walked
Lots of space with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom
What could be improved: Gym is limited
Very Good
The room had a balcony. Great view from 20th floor. Great space - much better than a typical hotel.
What could be improved: Music at rooftop lounge was extremely loud.
feeling safe and respected.
The receptionists especially Mr. Ayman and Hector, the location is excellent, respecting the privacy of the guests.
What could be improved: The furniture needs to be changed and the shower needs to be renovated in the apartment.
Quaint Property, good location, wonderful staff
The people that work here are outstanding and seem really happy with their job- like literally all of them. They had free laundry with lots of machines and give you detergent! They collected packages, the gym is pretty great. I had to leave early and they checked me out no problem.
What could be improved: The only downside is that NYC is in a heat wave and the A/C units started breaking down. My room went from 70 to 84 in about 2 hours because the building faces the day sun. Even with the windows covered it didn’t help. The crew was trying hard to fix things- but I’m not sure if my room was ever fixed (I left early). Still a fantastic hotel.
Great!
Second visit and long stay for us. That says all.
What could be improved: May be get a better coffee machine in the lobby
