You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Giraffe by Library Hotel Collection? The moment you walk in, there’s this unexpectedly intimate vibe that feels more like a sophisticated townhouse than your typical midtown hotel. I mean, it’s right there on Park Avenue South where things can get pretty hectic, but somehow they’ve managed to create this little sanctuary that actually makes sense.
The four-star rating feels about right – it’s polished without being stuffy, and honestly, the staff seems to genuinely care about getting the details right. I stayed here twice last year, and both times the front desk remembered my coffee preference by day two, which is the kind of thing that sticks with you. The rooms have this warm, library-inspired design (hence the name, obviously) with rich fabrics and these great reading nooks by the windows. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being in the middle of everything – the 26th Street side gets some traffic noise, but it’s nothing that drowns out conversation or keeps you awake.
Location-wise, you’re basically in the sweet spot of NoMad where you can walk to Madison Square Park in about three minutes, grab incredible food at Eleven Madison Park if you’re feeling fancy, or just wander down to some of the better casual spots along Park Avenue South. The Flatiron Building is right there too, which never gets old to look at, and you’ve got easy subway access without the chaos of being right in Times Square or super touristy areas. I actually found myself walking everywhere instead of taking cabs because the neighborhood just invites it – tree-lined streets, interesting architecture, that kind of thing. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking, but there’s a garage about a block away that they can arrange for you, and honestly, in New York that’s pretty standard. What impressed me most was how the concierge team really knew their stuff about the area – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to find the best late-night bite or which direction to avoid during rush hour. It’s that kind of local insight that makes a stay feel less like you’re just passing through and more like you’re actually experiencing the city the way it’s meant to be experienced.
To book a hotel in New York during major events like Fashion Week, travelers need early planning as this vibrant city draws visitors eager to experience its dynamic energy and world-famous skyline.

OK.
The hotel is quite well positioned, it is 2 blocks from the Metro station (6). The room was very clean, quite large. The hotel staff was very cooperative.
What could be improved: Very poor breakfast.
Location is fantastic
Super friendly staff and great location
Great location, comfortable bed, affordable.
We liked the location - close to Subway stations and the lovely Madison Square Park. Our room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great. The staff were helpful and friendly.
What could be improved: Although we could make a cup of tea and take it up to our room, it would have been nice to have a kettle to make one in our room. When on holiday, a cup of tea in bed is always a treat I look forward to.

The location is superlative. There is easy access to the subway at 28th street, which makes public transportation an option. The hotel is well appointed with a friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms are spacious and very clean.
