Hilton Garden Inn West 35th Street
You know what surprised me most about Hilton Garden Inn West 35th Street?
You know what surprised me most about Hilton Garden Inn West 35th Street? How quiet it actually gets at night, considering you’re literally in the thick of Manhattan’s Garment District. I mean, sure, you’ll hear the occasional siren – it’s New York after all – but the windows do a decent job keeping the street noise at bay, which honestly wasn’t what I expected from a three-star place right on West 35th.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you think about it. You’re a quick walk to Penn Station (maybe 8-10 minutes if you’re not dragging a massive suitcase), Herald Square is right there, and you can easily hop over to the Empire State Building – though I’d skip the tourist crowds and just admire it from the street. The lobby has this sort of modern-but-not-trying-too-hard vibe, with those big windows facing the street that give you perfect people-watching opportunities. The front desk staff seemed genuinely helpful when I was there, not just going through the motions like at some chain hotels.
What really works about this place is how it handles the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. The rooms are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but the beds are actually comfortable and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathroom renovation looks fairly recent, which you definitely notice after staying at some of the older properties in the area. I appreciated having a mini-fridge and microwave, especially since grabbing food in that neighborhood can get expensive fast. The fitness center is small but gets the job done if you need to work off all those New York pizza slices, and honestly, the 24-hour market in the lobby saved me more than once when I needed snacks or forgot to pack something. Parking is available but pricey – though that’s pretty standard for this part of Manhattan, and you’re probably better off using public transit anyway. The whole experience just feels more personal than what you’d get at the massive hotels nearby, without sacrificing the reliability you want from the Hilton brand.

Very Good
Great location in the heart of Manhattan; walkable distance to a lot of sights and underground stations
What could be improved: It was kind of annoying waiting for the lift sometimes, but luckily I didnt have to use it too often.
Great location, comfortable and well maintained!
Rooms are a decent size for nyc. Elevators were not that slow lol. Staff was super helpful and attentive.
What could be improved: It doesn't include breakfast unless you are a diamond or platinum rewards member and the breakfast offered that we bought was meh.
Everything was great
They have a sign "no need to clean the room"
What could be improved: They don't have a sign "please clean the room" :)
Good place and fair value; would stay there again.
Good location and reception staff friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: A member of the bar staff (older Irish man) was not particularly friendly and was unnecessarily curt on a couple of occasions.
Wonderful
Location was perfect. Very comfortable and clean. Our room was large enough to enjoy relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful with questions. I would gladly return.
What could be improved: The only thing I didn't care for was a housekeeping staff member knocked on our door at 9am on our departure day to see when we would be leaving. We knew check out was noon ( which was nice)
She reminded us that 12 was check out.
Highly recommend for NY Sightseeing trip
Great location, subway close to hotel, the view from the room - Empire State Building looks impressive from 25th floor!!!
What could be improved: Rooms are quite old-fashioned but it’s not a big problem if you are here for few days
Very good Moneu vs Valie for short stay in NYC

Centrally located NYC getaway for visits, sightseeing and theater going. Highly recommend!
Comfortable, quiet room with powerful AC. High quality pillows so I slept well. Room has all the amenities including coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. Super convenient! The location is excellent for getting around NYC. Right next door to three great Korean restaurants and the orange line subway entrance.
