Hilton Garden Inn New York Central Park South-Midtown West
You know what surprised me most about the Hilton Garden Inn New York Central Park South-Midtown West?
You know what surprised me most about the Hilton Garden Inn New York Central Park South-Midtown West? It’s tucked away on 54th Street in this perfect sweet spot where you’re close to everything but not drowning in the chaos. I mean, you step outside and Broadway’s literally around the corner – I could hear the faint buzz of Times Square without actually being in that tourist madness, which honestly felt like the best of both worlds.
The hotel itself is a solid three-star spot that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and I actually appreciated that. The lobby’s got this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and the staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. My room on the eighth floor had this surprisingly decent view considering we’re talking about Midtown – you catch glimpses of the city sprawl between buildings, and if you crane your neck just right, you can spot a sliver of Central Park. The rooms are what you’d expect from Hilton Garden Inn – reliable, comfortable beds that actually let you sleep despite being in New York, and a little kitchenette area that came in handy for late-night snacks (because let’s be real, room service gets expensive fast in this city).
What really sold me on this place was the location intelligence, if that makes sense. You’re walking distance from Central Park South – I did my morning runs through the park and was back for a shower in fifteen minutes. But here’s the thing locals know: 54th Street puts you right between the Theater District craziness and the slightly more civilized upper Midtown area. I grabbed amazing Korean food on 32nd Street one night, hit up the MoMA another afternoon, and caught a show without needing to plan my life around subway schedules. The parking situation is typical Manhattan nightmare, so don’t even think about driving here, but the subway access is decent – you’ve got a few different lines within reasonable walking distance. One small thing that bugged me was the elevator situation during busy check-in times – there were definitely some waiting moments – but the rooms are quiet once you’re settled in, which is honestly miraculous considering you’re in the heart of everything. For the price point and the neighborhood, it delivers exactly what you need without any pretense, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want in a city that can overwhelm you with choices.

Very Good
Convenient.. clean ..
What could be improved: Elevators take toooo long
Nice!
Staff was a great help with luggage. Great view!
What could be improved: Hard to park car to unload/load luggage. No free or low-cost breakfast options.
We had fun in NYC
Location, close to Times square and central park.
What could be improved: One lift was out of service causing the other ones to be extremely slow.
Conveniently located and excellent servicing of room.
Quiet, comfortable room which was serviced extremely well each day. Good location for sightseeing.
What could be improved: There are three lifts. Two were only working during our stay so they were heavily in demand which meant waiting well over five minutes to access one.
Clean, convenient, courteous staff. Good location for short stay to visit friends.
Location and cleanliness
What could be improved: Limited elevator access and storage of housekeeping supplies in hallway outside my door.
Have stayed there once before, it’s very central
How close it was to Times Square
It was clean, comfy beds, staff were friendly
What could be improved: The rooms were quite small
No restaurant- I think it was having a refurb?
Nice Staff , big room close to everything 😀
Location
What could be improved: No Bar
Very Good
What could be improved: The elevators are horribly slow.
Very happy, comfortable beds, but elevators.
The staff was very friendly, and the room equipment was fine, including a wireless charger for a mobile phone.
The WiFi network is stable and quick.
Perfect location,
What could be improved: The big issue with this hotel is the elevators. There are three, but only two worked. The waiting time is not bad, but it is annoying, and people are often nervous. Going down, it is better to use stairs; for the way up, it depends on your floor. Going up to 11th floor was quicker than waiting for the elevator.
Wonderful
The location is excellent and the staff is great.
What could be improved: The elevator! It is not so chaotic as others says but on rush hours it takes time to get a ride.
