Hampton Inn Times Square Central
You know what caught me off guard about Hampton Inn Times Square Central?
You know what caught me off guard about Hampton Inn Times Square Central? It actually feels like a retreat from the chaos, even though you’re literally in the thick of it all. I mean, when you’re staying on 41st Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue, you expect to be completely overwhelmed by the tourist madness, but somehow this three-star place manages to be your calm in the storm.
The lobby hits different than most Times Square hotels – it’s got this modern, clean vibe without trying too hard to be trendy. Check-in was surprisingly smooth even during that crazy pre-theater rush around 6 PM, and the staff actually seemed to know what they were talking about when I asked about subway routes (which, honestly, is rarer than you’d think in this neighborhood). The rooms aren’t huge – this is New York after all – but they’re thoughtfully designed with enough space to actually open your suitcase without doing yoga moves around the bed. The soundproofing is solid too, which is crucial because 41st Street can get pretty intense with all the tour buses and taxis honking at all hours.
What I really appreciated was how walkable everything felt from here. You’re basically a three-minute walk to the TKTS stairs, but more importantly for actual getting around, the Times Square-42nd Street subway station is right there with like eight different train lines. Port Authority is close enough that you can easily catch buses to the airports, but far enough that you don’t deal with all that terminal chaos spilling onto your block. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you can grab late-night food from those 24-hour delis that New Yorkers actually use, not just the overpriced tourist traps on Broadway. There’s this little corner market on 8th Avenue that saved me multiple times when I needed actual snacks, not $8 candy bars from the hotel vending machine. Honestly, the whole experience felt more authentic than I expected – you get the full Times Square energy when you want it, but you can also duck into quieter side streets for a breather. The Hampton Inn brand consistency shows here too; their free breakfast actually helps when you’re trying to fuel up before a full day of walking around the city, and the coffee in the lobby is available 24/7, which became essential during those weird jet-lag hours.
Hotels in New York offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of the Big Apple, with easy access to Wall Street, vibrant nightlife, and renowned attractions like Statue of Liberty.

Wonderful
Clean, amazing location. I have stayed in this location many times and is my first choice of hotel for any nyc trip
What could be improved: Thought it was a bit expensive, the room/breakfast are basic enough. Additionally, housekeeping was extremely unorganised, ie. We were told it was every second day but our room ended up being serviced 2 days in a row, but then not at all for 2 full days and we had to look for towels. I personally think housekeeping should be offered everyday or give options like towel only service
Welcoming and friendly at a great locaiton.
All was great from the food to the location. There was very little interaction with the staff but the small amount there was they were also friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: They value is the only downside. I understand you're paying for the location but I think that goes with anyplace near Times Square.
Very Good
Location
What could be improved: Breakfast
Nice hotel in a great location
Location, reception service, security, comfortable beds.
What could be improved: fighting for food at breakfast, poor organization of food queues
Overall good stay and good experience
We most loved was the location of the hotel, Times square was just 5 mins walking distance. The hotel is renovated and was clean, staff is friendly and welcoming. I loved that it has secure access for elevators and entry after 10 pm. Overall very clean rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast was complimentary and it was decent, except the place to sit became little crowded during peak time.
What could be improved: Nothing much that we didn’t like, except during peak hours the elevator took really long to come. They have 3 elevators but still it took 5-9 mins for elevator to come during peak hours.
Comfortable, cozy. Laundry was quoted at $2 per cycle but machines took $4
Breakfast was good, could have had more variety on alternate days.
What could be improved: Rooms were smaller than expected but comfortable.
Very Good
Good facilities, room was comfortable, good breakfast, Joseph was a great help. Location was great, they had coffee, hot/cold water available throughout day.
What could be improved: Lifts can get busy at peak hours, but managed to avoid this and only waited when we had to check out.
Great location for the theater district
Courteous staff
What could be improved: We were told to check in at 3 but room wasn't ready, had to hang around waiting. But they gave us bottled water while we waited so they tried to do what they could.
Very Good
Location, room size, beds
What could be improved: Breakfast
Location location
Nice having breakfast included. Normal continental options. Location was perfect!!!
What could be improved: Elevators were slowish. Because of number of floors sometimes took long time to get down from hugher floors.
