UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley
You know what really gets me about UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley?
You know what really gets me about UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley? The name is so deliberately mysterious that I almost walked past it twice before realizing this was actually my hotel. It’s tucked into this narrow alley in the Lower East Side – and I mean really tucked in, like someone decided to hide a four-star boutique hotel where you’d least expect to find one.
The thing is, Freeman Alley itself is basically a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it side street, but honestly, that’s what makes staying here feel like you’re in on some kind of secret. You’re literally steps away from all the chaos of New York – the Bowery is right there, and you can walk to basically anywhere in Lower Manhattan – but when you duck into that alley, it’s like the city volume gets turned down to a manageable level. I stayed here in late spring, and the whole area comes alive after dark with people spilling out of the bars and galleries, but inside the hotel, you barely hear any of it. The soundproofing is actually impressive, which, trust me, matters when you’re trying to sleep in this neighborhood.
The rooms themselves have this sort of industrial-meets-cozy thing going on – exposed brick, but with really thoughtful lighting that makes everything feel warm rather than stark. My room had these huge windows (well, huge for New York standards), and I spent way too much time just watching people navigate the alley below. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and they’ve got this rain shower situation that I mean, it’s one of those small luxuries that just makes you feel like you’re doing New York right. What really surprised me was the attention to detail – like, they stock local coffee beans, and the minibar actually has interesting stuff instead of the usual overpriced nuts and candy bars. The front desk staff really knows their neighborhood too, which is refreshing. They pointed me toward this tiny gallery around the corner that I never would have found otherwise, and gave me the real story on which nearby restaurants are worth the inevitable wait versus which ones are just Instagram hype. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM because I saw a few people hovering around looking slightly lost earlier in the day. The whole experience just feels more authentic than staying in one of those massive Midtown places where you could be in any city, anywhere. If you want to actually feel like you’re experiencing New York rather than just visiting it, this spot delivers.
New York’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of cosmopolitan sophistication and American hospitality, with many featuring rooftop bars and authentic New York cultural experiences.

What could be improved: Gym
Nice place to stay for a short visit in the city.
Nice and clean hotel for our visit in NYC
What could be improved: Breakfast was too small. You are only allowed to take one drink and one pastry.
Stylish oasis on the lower East Side.
Great style and vibe; terrific coffee and pastries in the morning and tidy rooms. Quiet oasis in the middle of lower Manhattan. Staff are brilliant!
What could be improved: Room very very compact (esp for 2) and roof bar not open the 3 days we were there was a pity. Could use a bar service in the cafe downstairs and a fitness room would be helpful.
Very Good
Room was clean, new furniture, shower was hot, very quiet and it was small but perfect. I got really good sleep there. Great location.

Great location and good vibe
Nice common area.
Very good location!
A lot of young people
What could be improved: They don’t accept packages for their guests
The room we stayed in was a bit small. Would opt for a bigger room next time but for the price of that I could also stay at another hotel that accepts packages.
Loved it! Would recommend it.
Vibrant diverse and friendly. Great location.
Our family spent 5 nights at Untitled. Our teenage daughters enjoyed their first visit to nyc even more than I anticipat
Unique decor, roomy public spaces, great location with easy subway access, quiet, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff.
What could be improved: I only regret that I didn’t get to the roof for the view.
