Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown West
I'll be honest – when I first walked into Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown West, I wasn't expecting much from what I thought would be just another chain hotel.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown West, I wasn’t expecting much from what I thought would be just another chain hotel. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this clean, modern feel without being sterile, and the staff at check-in were genuinely helpful (not the fake-friendly kind you sometimes get in New York). What really caught my attention was how they’ve managed to create this calm pocket right in the middle of all the Hudson Yards chaos – and trust me, that’s no small feat when you’re literally surrounded by construction cranes and the constant hum of the city.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without paying those insane Times Square hotel prices. You’re a quick walk to Penn Station, which I mean, isn’t the prettiest part of town but it’s incredibly practical if you’re catching trains or need the subway connections. The High Line entrance is basically around the corner, and I spent way too much time wandering that elevated park – it’s one of those things that never gets old, even for us locals. Hudson Yards feels like this weird mix of ultra-modern and still figuring itself out, but that works in your favor because everything’s new and the crowds haven’t fully discovered all the good spots yet. The room itself was spacious by Manhattan standards (and I say that as someone who’s lived in a shoebox apartment for years), with this four-star attention to detail that you notice in small things – the blackout curtains actually work, the shower has proper water pressure, and there’s enough outlets that you don’t have to choose between charging your phone and using the coffee maker.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re on West 34th Street. The windows must be pretty well insulated because I barely heard the typical New York symphony of sirens and honking. The fitness center is decent if you’re into that sort of thing, and there’s a Starbucks in the lobby which – look, I know it’s not authentic New York coffee culture, but sometimes you just want something familiar and fast. The whole Hudson Yards area is still sort of finding its personality, but that means you’re staying somewhere that feels fresh and different from the usual Midtown experience. You know what really sold me though? The staff remembered my name after the second day, and in a city where you can feel pretty anonymous, that small touch made all the difference. It’s the kind of place where business travelers and tourists can both feel comfortable without either group dominating the vibe.
New York’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of cosmopolitan sophistication and American hospitality, with many featuring rooftop bars and authentic New York cultural experiences.

The hotel is beautiful, quiet and well furnished with comfort in mind. The staff were amazingly friendly throughout our stay.
The location near the Hudson River was amazing, it felt safe at all times and was surprisingly quiet for a city that never sleeps.
Can’t recommend this hotel enough.
Great views good location
Great views, loved the location, clean and friendly staff
What could be improved: The elevators took long time (one was not working) stopped at every floor even tho it was full took over 10 mins to get from floor 24 to 1 and we were packed in not much room to move
Perfect hotel in NYC, would definitely go again.
Loved the location on 34th street between 9th and 10th, far enough from crowd and close to everything. Immaculate premises and very spacious rooms.
Date night was a success!
