Club Quarters Hotel Grand Central, New York

You know what caught me off guard about Club Quarters Hotel Grand Central, New York?

You know what caught me off guard about Club Quarters Hotel Grand Central, New York? It’s actually quiet – and I mean genuinely quiet – despite being smack in the middle of one of the busiest parts of Manhattan. I was expecting the usual Midtown chaos to seep through the windows, but honestly, once you’re inside this four-star place on East 45th, it feels like you’ve found this little pocket of calm that somehow exists between Grand Central and all those corporate towers.

The thing is, this hotel gets business travelers, and it shows in all the right ways. The rooms aren’t huge – this is New York after all – but they’re smart about space. Everything has its place, the desk actually works for getting stuff done, and the bed is one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re drowning in pillows. I stayed here twice last year, and both times the staff remembered little things, which honestly surprised me. The lobby has this sort of understated professional vibe – not stuffy, just… competent, I guess? There’s usually a mix of people checking emails and having those hushed business conversations, but it never feels overwhelming.

What really sold me on the place was the location without the location penalty, if that makes sense. You’re literally a three-minute walk to Grand Central – I timed it because I’m neurotic about catching trains – but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds that pile up around the main entrances. The Chrysler Building is right there looking gorgeous, especially at night when it’s all lit up, and you can walk to Bryant Park in maybe eight minutes if you need some green space. Actually, there’s a decent deli around the corner on Lexington that the front desk guy recommended, and it became my morning coffee spot. The hotel doesn’t have a big restaurant scene, but honestly, you’re surrounded by options, and room service was solid the one time I used it. Parking is expensive – but where isn’t it in Midtown? – though the valet guys were quick about it. I’d say if you’re here for business or you want to be central without the Times Square madness, this place hits that sweet spot where you get professional service and a good night’s sleep without paying some ridiculous premium just for a fancy name on the building.

Exceptional

Room was clean and perfect amount of space for a couple. Bathroom clean and well stocked. They even brought up a mini-fridge when we called. Gym looked great although we didn't use it. Highly recommend.

What could be improved: Wish it wasn't so expensive to stay in NYC but I guess that is just how it is. Seemed like the cost was higher than my original Booking.com quote. I really liked everything else so not anything further to mention.

The hotel was Very convenient and well cared for

The upper deck and the staff

What could be improved: The room set-up. The banquette took up too much space

Great location but no real faculties other than a roof top terrace

Location is excellent next to Grand Central with walking distance of 5th Avenue shops and times square . Lots of food choices nearby . Roof top area is a nice area to relax with a bring your own beer / drink with a view . Has a laundry machine on site. .

What could be improved: No Breakfast or drinks facility . there is a convenience store and sushi place across the road for snacks drinks smokes ect . Only a vending machine which cheapens the property . Rooms are tight and small but that’s New York . The acoustics in the hall way and doors are poor with doors because being close each other and you can hear people talking and knocking loud can wake you up .

Nice experience

Location, the staff, the bed was very comfortable.

What could be improved: There is just one coffee machine and sometimes the guests have to wait much time to get the morning coffee.

Convenient, great location, excellent roof terrace, value for money and friendly staff

Fantastic location 2 mins from Grand Central. Free tea and coffee on a roof terrace with amazing views. Complimentary WiFi. Excellent value. All the people were friendly and knowledgeable especially Mark Anthony who was really helpful to us and went the extra mile to accommodate our luggage request.
