First Impressions
Walking up to The FIDI Hotel on Stone Street, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — this four-star boutique property sits right in the heart of the Financial District, but it doesn’t scream tourist trap like some of the bigger chains. The building itself has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with the cobblestone streets around it. I mean, Stone Street is basically one of New York‘s most charming historic blocks, so the hotel really couldn’t ask for a better backdrop.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about staying in FiDi — you’re walking distance from the 9/11 Memorial, South Street Seaport, and the Staten Island Ferry (hello, free Statue of Liberty views), but once the business crowd heads home after 6 PM, the neighborhood gets surprisingly quiet. The hotel sits perfectly positioned where you can grab dinner at one of Stone Street’s outdoor cafes, then retreat to your room without dealing with the chaos of Times Square or Midtown. Couples especially seem to get this — apparently they rate the location over 9 out of 10, and honestly, I can see why.
The Room Experience
The rooms aren’t huge — this is Manhattan, after all — but they’re thoughtfully designed with that modern boutique hotel aesthetic. What struck me most was how quiet everything felt, even though you’re in one of the busiest cities in the world. The windows do a solid job of blocking out street noise, and the beds are actually comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be). The bathrooms are compact but well-appointed, with decent water pressure and those little touches that make you feel like someone actually thought about your experience.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is a mix of continental and buffet options — nothing groundbreaking, but it gets the job done before you head out exploring. I actually appreciated that they keep it simple rather than trying to be something they’re not. The coffee’s decent, there are fresh pastries, and you can grab some fruit and yogurt if you’re planning a busy day of walking around the city. It’s the kind of breakfast that fuels you up without making you feel sluggish, which is exactly what you want when you’ve got a full day of New York ahead of you.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being in the thick of things without feeling overwhelming. You’re a short subway ride from basically anywhere you want to go, but you can also walk to some of the city’s most iconic spots. The staff seems to genuinely care about making your stay work — they’re not just going through the motions. Recent guests consistently rate the location as exceptional, and after spending time in the area, I totally get it. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing authentic New York without sacrificing comfort or convenience.

Great hotel with a very friendly staff. Especially Zakia at the reception was so helpful
Great location, cleanliness, friendly staff, breakfast, afternoon wine
What could be improved: Breakfast buffet missed eggs, omlette and other warm dishes but whatever they served was always sufficient
Street noise was coming to the room (10th. floor) at 5 am due to the garbage truck working on the street
Very Good

Quiet, room was clean and comfortable. It was nice being close to the harbour and boats. Breakfast was good too
Overall the room was clean comfortable and in the perfect location
The property location was perfect. We were right in the middle of the financial district, and close to so many restaurants and bars. The room itself was clean and kind of small but comfortable.
What could be improved: The room size was a bit small and Toilet that was connected into the wall was a little scary to sit on because it sounded like the was going to break out of the wall every time you sat on it
Wonderful
Friendly staff, comfortable bed. Wine hour was also a nice touch.
What could be improved: Room size could’ve been bigger.
Very Good

What could be improved: The breakfast was really basic, but overall a really good hotel

What could be improved: Rooms are nice decorated but small, no closet..
