First Impressions
Walking into Andaz 5th Avenue-a concept by Hyatt feels like stepping into someone’s incredibly stylish Manhattan apartment — if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and a serious budget. The lobby ditches the typical hotel grandeur for something more intimate and modern, which honestly feels refreshing after dealing with the chaos of New York streets. You know what struck me most? The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, and in a city this size, that personal touch means everything.
Location & Neighborhood
This four-star spot sits right on 5th Avenue, and I mean right on it — you’re literally steps from the New York Public Library and Bryant Park. The location is pretty much unbeatable if you want to be in the thick of things without staying in Times Square (trust me, you don’t want that). Couples seem to get this — they consistently rate the location highly, and after spending time here, I totally understand why. You can walk to Grand Central in about five minutes, catch a Broadway show without much planning, and honestly, just people-watching from this corner of the city is entertainment enough.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this clean, minimalist vibe that somehow felt cozy rather than cold. The beds here are genuinely comfortable — like, sink-into-them-after-a-long-day-of-walking comfortable. I’m usually pretty picky about hotel beds, but this one actually lived up to the hype. The windows are large enough to give you real city views, and the soundproofing is surprisingly good considering you’re on one of the busiest avenues in Manhattan. There’s also this nice touch where they provide local area guides that go beyond the typical tourist stuff.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast here leans American — think elevated versions of classics rather than anything too fancy or experimental. It’s the kind of meal that actually fuels you for a day of exploring rather than just looking pretty on Instagram. What really caught my attention was the parking situation — they actually have private parking, which in this part of the city is basically like finding a unicorn. The staff mentioned that a lot of guests come back repeatedly, and after experiencing the service level firsthand, that makes complete sense.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about this place that feels authentically New York without being overwhelming. Maybe it’s the way the design reflects the city’s energy without copying every other boutique hotel, or how the location puts you right in the cultural heart of Manhattan. The repeat guest thing isn’t just a statistic — you can feel it in how the staff operates and how comfortable the whole experience feels. It’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in the city, but it nails the balance between style, comfort, and that indefinable New York sophistication that makes you want to extend your stay.

Guest Reviews
Great Location, simple stylish vibe
Loved the location, the hotel is quiet, clean and friendly staff

The wellness room was specious and very conformable
Style, size, location, service, cleanliness (except toilet on C floor)
The location was nice. Stayed Sat night until Sun. Was able to park right in front of the hotel since street parking on Sunday was able. The rooms were better than i thought. It's just that the bathroom was little too big for the room and too many doors for entering bathroom. No locks was bad. The showers were amazing but not having door kind of got me restrained from washing because the waters splashing on the floor. Another thing was the BED. I had very hard time sleeping. Bed was too soft and bad mattress. With the price of room I paid, I thought it could do better mattresses.
Fantastic room with views over the public library, empire state and Bryant park. We stayed as a family of 4 and had the best time in the 2-bedroom suite. The staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We stayed for 1 week and could have stayed longer. Definitely recommend.
Great gym. Excellent restaurant. Nice front-desk staff. Very clean rooms.
Great location, but the rooms are starting to feel dated.
location! Good access to Grand Central, subway and sightseeing spot.
Kind and smiling Front, cleaning and bar/restaurant staff.
