World Center Hotel
I'll be honest – when I first walked into World Center Hotel on Washington Street, I wasn't expecting much from the exterior.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into World Center Hotel on Washington Street, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. The building blends right into the Financial District landscape, but step inside and you realize this four-star property has some serious character hiding behind that understated facade.
The thing about staying in New York is location absolutely makes or breaks your trip, and this place gets it right in ways that aren’t immediately obvious. You’re literally steps from the 9/11 Memorial, which means you can visit early morning before the crowds hit – trust me on this one. But what I really loved was how easy it became to explore Brooklyn Heights. Just a quick walk across the Brooklyn Bridge (which, let’s face it, you’re doing anyway), and suddenly you’ve got this whole other perspective on the city. The hotel staff actually pointed me toward some great photo spots along the Promenade that I never would’ve found otherwise.
The rooms themselves feel surprisingly spacious for Manhattan standards, though I mean, we’re still talking New York square footage here. What impressed me was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re exhausted from walking fifteen miles around the city – blackout curtains that really work, decent water pressure, and outlets where you need them. The AC runs a bit loud, but honestly, after a day dealing with subway noise and sirens, it was kind of comforting white noise. I stayed on the eighth floor facing north and could catch glimpses of the harbor between buildings, which felt like a small daily victory. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no overly chatty concierge trying to upsell you on tours you don’t want, just efficient service from people who clearly know the neighborhood inside and out. They warned me about construction noise starting around 7 AM on weekdays, which was spot-on accurate and somehow made it less annoying when it happened. The area gets pretty quiet after business hours since it’s mostly office buildings, so if you’re looking for late-night dining, you’ll want to venture toward Stone Street or head up toward SoHo. But there’s something nice about having this peaceful pocket in the middle of everything – you can actually hear yourself think when you get back to the hotel.

Wonderful
Location
Very Good
The stay here is always great.
Fab hotel in the financial district, quiet, close to subway
Large comfortable room, bed was super comfy! Friendly staff. View of 9/11 memorial, free purified water and reusable bottles a god send! Nice roof top bar.
Wonderful
Very comfortable.
What could be improved: Refill the espresso station in the room. It was not refilled when the room was cleaned (espresso, sugar, & cream)
Ok
What could be improved: Room Servive did not clean coffee cups for the 3 day stay. We had to ask for coffee and cups which never arrived. They only cleaned the bed area not the sitting area.
Wonderful
The view is very beautiful and full of historical meaning.
Lovely hotel by World Trade Centre
Location, staff very helpful as there was a problem with my room when I arrived and it took an hour for them to get it sorted but Janice was very apologetic
What could be improved: Small negative was bars of soap in shower room find this a waste where liquid soap like the shampoo /conditioner and body lotion would be more cost effective
Perfectly acceptable
Quieter location way from bustle
What could be improved: Expensive area to eat. Resorted to takeaways
Have had only good stays (if you get a view it's great). It's a truly reliable hotel in FiDi.
Recent room was amazing, but had no view...except into other apartments. But like I said, the room was great with a kitchen. I feel like I got above what I paid for, or have had to pay for rooms with a kitchen. I'm more upset at myself for only using it one night.
Location is fine with me, I've stayed here probably almost a dozen times, but it is a bit of an annoying walk from the hotel to the Subway or go a bit around to the WTC. It's short, but a bit annoying. Not enough to deter me from them obviously. A few extra steps? Got to be a good sign that that is my biggest complaint.
The free water bottles are what I love most (maybe I'm easy to please?) But I grab 2 before I leave and don't have to walk up to a vendor that is 50/50 on cool water, or charging $7 for them.
I will also say the street vendor at their opposite corner has never ripped me off. I'll take a properly priced hot water dog any day over $10 dogs in Times Square. I don't care if your name is Nathans, you can't justify the $7 difference there.
What could be improved: The NYPD has a parking lot right there under the park, but you can't really do anything about it. It just cuts off easier access to the hotel I feel. But that's absolutely not the hotels fault.
I've probably stayed at this property a dozen times, I DO feel like the elevators are getting a bit slower, but the good news is you have access to all 4 no matter it it's Club Quarters or World Center. You maybe won't be blown away by everything, but if you're a simple going guest like me? It's all you need.
Nice city hotel ideal for business travelers
Great location, right next to ground zero, in financial district within walking distance from metro stations.
