First Impressions
Walking up to The Wallace Hotel on West 76th Street, you immediately sense you’ve found something special. This five-star boutique property sits perfectly in the heart of the Upper West Side, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — I mean, you’re literally steps from Central Park and surrounded by some of New York’s most charming tree-lined streets. The building itself has this elegant, understated luxury that feels authentically Manhattan without being flashy about it.
The Neighborhood Advantage
What I love about this spot is how it captures the real Upper West Side experience. You’re a quick walk to the Natural History Museum, Lincoln Center is just down the road, and the subway connections at 72nd and 79th Streets make getting anywhere in the city incredibly easy. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about the area — and I get it, because there’s something romantic about strolling through this neighborhood, especially when you can duck into Riverside Park or catch a sunset over the Hudson. Plus, having private parking available in Manhattan? That’s practically unheard of and honestly a game-changer if you’re driving in.
Luxury in the Details
The room I stayed in was beautifully appointed with that perfect balance of modern comfort and classic New York sophistication. You know what struck me most? The attention to detail — from the high-quality linens to the thoughtful lighting that actually works for both reading and relaxation. The bathrooms feel like personal spas, and the soundproofing is excellent (crucial when you’re in the city). Each space feels carefully curated rather than cookie-cutter, which you’d expect from a property of this caliber.
Dining and Amenities
The hotel’s restaurant serves exceptional cuisine that draws both guests and locals — always a good sign in New York. I was impressed by how they’ve managed to create intimate dining spaces that feel removed from the city’s hustle, yet you’re still right in the thick of everything. The spa services are top-notch too, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the city. What really sets this place apart is how the staff anticipates your needs without being intrusive — they clearly understand luxury hospitality.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.3 rating really tells the story here, but what makes The Wallace special is how it feels like your own sophisticated pied-à-terre in Manhattan. Couples particularly appreciate the romantic atmosphere and prime location — there’s something about being able to walk hand-in-hand through Central Park or along the tree-lined streets that just works. The combination of personalized service, genuine luxury touches, and that unbeatable Upper West Side location creates an experience that feels both exclusive and authentically New York. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

Exceptional
The room was clean and new. We had 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds and it was perfect for our family. There was a living room with lots of space. Great location too. Will be back.
Lovely rooms in updated hotel with gracious staff
We stayed in room 607, having been upgraded by staff to a suite for our 3 day stay. The room was stylish, comfortable and quiet, and spotless. The room overlooked treetops and a courtyard between buildings. I was surprised to learn the hotel was renovated in 2021 as it felt brand new. All staff were positive and professional. Thank you for an outstanding stay.
What could be improved: Nothing!

A wonderful place in NY Upper West Side.
The Hotel is wonderful and location is great. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Everyone was very kind and professional. The room was very nice, everything seems brand new and it was perfect. I really enjoyed my stay and would return.
What could be improved: Please put real mugs or cups and saucers for coffee and real glasses in the bathroom. Everything was so nice and that would make it a notch above the rest. Overall, excellent.
Perfect. Would stay again and absolutely recommend
Everything. Confort, cleanless, location, staff.
What could be improved: Only thing I can think of is that we could ear water running from above rooms. But our stay was absolutely perfect and would definitely stay again and recommend.
