The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection
I'll be honest, The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection caught me off guard in the best way possible.
I’ll be honest, The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how Midtown East can feel a bit sterile sometimes? Well, this place actually has some personality tucked into that classic brick facade on Lexington Avenue. The moment you walk in, there’s this old-school Manhattan vibe that feels authentic rather than forced – I mean, the lobby has these rich jewel tones and brass details that remind you this building has stories to tell.
What really sold me on this four-star spot was how it handles the whole “being in the thick of things without losing your sanity” balance. You’re literally at 48th and Lex, which means Grand Central is a quick walk (honestly, maybe four minutes if you’re not rushing), and you’ve got the 6 train right there at 51st if you need it. But here’s the thing – once you’re inside your room, the city noise just sort of… fades away. The windows are solid, and I actually slept well, which is saying something for someone who usually needs earplugs in New York. The rooms themselves have this modern comfort thing down pat without being bland – decent size by Manhattan standards, and the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable.
The staff here gets it, you know? They’re helpful without being hovering, and they actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about a decent coffee spot that wasn’t Starbucks, the front desk guy pointed me toward this little place on Third Avenue that locals actually use. The fitness center is small but functional – nothing fancy, though it does the job if you need to work off those New York dining adventures. And speaking of food, while the hotel restaurant is fine, you’re surrounded by some seriously good options. There’s everything from food trucks to that excellent Italian place just around the corner on 47th. Parking situation is typical Manhattan (expensive and not fun), but honestly, you don’t need a car here anyway. The whole area comes alive during weekdays with the business crowd, then mellows out on weekends, which I kind of enjoyed – it felt like getting to see two different sides of the same neighborhood. For the price point and location, this place delivers exactly what it promises without any major surprises, good or bad.

Great hotel. Highly recommend.
The hotel location is excellent. Staff were very welcoming. The room sizes are bigger than most other Manhattan hotels.
What could be improved: There is no fridge or coffee machine in the room. However, they do provide a coffee machine on request
Staff was friendly and mostly accommodating
Clean great location
What could be improved: Door locks continued to not work
Wonderful
Really nice looking hotel. Great location.
What could be improved: Drinks are so expensive at the bar.
Elegant and spacious room
Clean, elegant, spacious room and great location
What could be improved: No complimentary water or snacks and I had to go to another place to get headache pills because they we’re closed.
Clean comfort in a prime location
Perfect location for our plans in the city. Very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the key lock on the door didn’t work multiple times over the Friday into the next evening. Every time we’d go to the room we couldn’t get in without going back to the desk and requesting help from security. It was a dead battery that, for some reason, took multiple attempts to have someone come replace.
Very Good
Excellent location for UN events. Everything is in walking distance. Loved having a Starbucks right inside the hotel.
What could be improved: The reception is always very busy to attend to any need. I had a package delivered and had to wait for a day because the staff in the parcel room was only available from 9 am to 5 pm. So, when I returned after a very busy work day, he had already left and other staff refused to help.
Great location and a good stay
The hotel is in a great location for shopping 5th Avenue, attending a Broadway show, and exploring Central Park. It was also a quick walk to a subway station. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was excellent.
What could be improved: The hotel had a strange vibe. The lobby is nice, but was often packed with large tour groups meeting up or flight attendants. A $35 daily credit for the bar/restaurant came with our room, but drinks at the bar were overpriced and then a surprise 18% service charge was added to our check.
Very Good
I enjoyed how clean the hotel was and the staff was professional. Upon arrival I received a drink at the bar on credit. I would return here for more vacations.
What could be improved: The only thing I didn’t like was that the tub was clogged and it hindered me from showering. But I called the front desk and was met with assistance.
