First Impressions
Walking into the New York Marriott Marquis feels like stepping into the beating heart of Manhattan itself. This five-star tower rises 49 floors above Times Square, and honestly, the lobby alone will make you pause — it’s this soaring atrium that somehow manages to feel both grand and welcoming. You know what struck me most? Despite being surrounded by the chaos of Broadway, once those elevator doors close, there’s this immediate sense of luxury and calm that washes over you.
Location & Neighborhood
I mean, you literally cannot get more central than this in New York. The hotel sits right at 1535 Broadway, which puts you within a two-minute walk of basically every major theater — I actually counted at least eight shows I could catch just by walking in different directions. The subway access is incredible too, with Times Square-42nd Street station practically underneath you, connecting you to every corner of the city. What couples particularly love (and I get why they rated the location 9.5) is that you can grab dinner in Little Italy, catch a Broadway show, and be back in your room without ever needing a taxi.
The Accommodations
The rooms here are what you’d expect from a luxury Marriott, but with some thoughtful touches that show they understand their guests. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame either the neon spectacle of Times Square or the more serene Hudson River — honestly, both views have their charm depending on your mood. The beds are those signature Marriott cloud-like affairs, and after walking 20,000 steps around Manhattan (which you will), sinking into one feels like pure bliss. The bathrooms are sleek and modern, though not huge by luxury standards — but really, who spends time in their hotel bathroom when you’re in the middle of Times Square?
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast situation here actually impressed me more than I expected. They’ve got this comprehensive buffet that covers everything from classic American fare to vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options — which is genuinely helpful when you’re traveling with different dietary needs. The revolving rooftop restaurant is sort of a tourist magnet, but you know what? Sometimes being a tourist in New York is exactly the point. There’s also private parking available, which might sound mundane until you realize how rare and valuable that is in this part of Manhattan.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances luxury with practicality. You get the full five-star treatment — attentive service, elegant spaces, premium amenities — but without the stuffiness that sometimes comes with high-end hotels. The staff genuinely seems to understand that most guests are here to experience New York, not hide from it, so they’re incredibly helpful with recommendations and logistics. Plus, there’s something undeniably exciting about staying in a place where you can watch the Times Square ball drop from your window on New Year’s Eve, or catch a last-minute Broadway show because you’re literally in the theater district.

I would 100% stay here again
Location is in the center of times square. 1 minute walk outside and your there. Very convenient location. Valet parking is great, no need to hunt for spaces. Friendly staff, clean rooms, at night you need to show a key to get to the elevators. Was there with my wife and 3 daughters. No safety concerns for me
What could be improved: You are paying Times Square premiums. Breakfast buffet for 7 was over $300 at the hotel. That was insanely overpriced. Sure it was good but cmon on....... Its as expected when you stay at a place like this. I understand that when you stay right in time square this is what you get. Just know that in advance. You pay for convivence and I was good with that.
Very good location, friendly staff and good food
Location
What could be improved: I had asked for room near elevators because I have knee problems but was given a room VERY far from elevators. Also it did not habe shower cap or toiletries and on the first night the sofa bed was not made. But everything else was very good. Staff was very helpful
Wonderful
The location
What could be improved: The restroom smelled like pee. I believe it was the linens.
Great location. Theatre district and plenty of restaurants in the area.
Location. Close to everything . I walked from my hotel to Broadway to see a play.
What could be improved: Parking.
Good
Opted for Time square views - they did not disappoint. Comfortable beds, fantastic location. Overall good experience.
What could be improved: Wall AC didn’t work in our room nor did the TV. You could turn the TV on but couldn’t get an actual channel to work.
Very Good
Very clean bedroom and bathroom
What could be improved: There was no microwave anywhere in the building
Beautiful
Right in Time square
What could be improved: No water in the room
Wonderful
Booking
What could be improved: I was expecting city view as mentioned in my booking reservation but the staff said that I have to pay more to get it.
Wonderful
Nicely located in the heart of Times Square. Room was clean and had a nice view on the Times Square. Bathroom was clean and had a decent size. The hotel has a gift shop that I found very useful. I used to buy a few things including new pajamas 😄
What could be improved: Nothing.
Very Good
Almost everything. High floors views, location.
What could be improved: They need to clean windows outside more often.
