Moxy NYC Lower East Side

The Moxy NYC Lower East Side sits right on Bowery, and honestly, when I first walked up to it I almost missed the entrance – it blends into the neighborhood in that effortless way that only really works when a hotel actually gets its location.

The Moxy NYC Lower East Side sits right on Bowery, and honestly, when I first walked up to it I almost missed the entrance – it blends into the neighborhood in that effortless way that only really works when a hotel actually gets its location. You know what I mean? This isn’t some generic tower trying to impose itself on New York, it’s more like the four-star property grew out of the Lower East Side’s creative energy.

I’ve stayed here twice now, and what strikes me every time is how they nailed that sweet spot between polished and authentic. The lobby buzzes with this mix of business travelers who clearly know their way around the city and younger guests who seem to be using it as home base for exploring downtown – and somehow it never feels chaotic. The rooms are compact but cleverly designed (I mean, this is Manhattan, so you’re not getting a suburban hotel suite), with these fun pops of color and enough USB ports that you won’t be crawling around looking for outlets. The bathrooms are actually spacious enough to move around in, which surprised me the first time.

What really sold me on this place, though, is stepping outside. You’re literally a few blocks from some of the best food in the city – I’m talking about places like Katz’s Deli if you want the touristy-but-worth-it experience, or you can wander toward the more hidden gems on Orchard Street. The hotel staff seems to genuinely know the neighborhood; when I asked about late-night eats, the front desk person didn’t just hand me a generic list but actually told me which direction to walk for the good ramen spot that stays open past midnight. There’s something to be said for that kind of local knowledge. The area can get a little lively on weekend nights – you’ll hear some street noise if you’re facing Bowery – but it’s not the kind of chaos that keeps you awake, more like the sound of a city that’s actually alive. Plus, getting to other parts of Manhattan is surprisingly easy from here; the subway connections are solid without the tourist crowds you get in Midtown.

New York hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in this never-sleeping city, known for its Broadway shows, world-class museums, and legendary shopping districts.

Clean and well designed rooms

Room was clean and well designed, lobby and rooftop bar were brilliant, staff were friendly, location was excellent

What could be improved: Breakfast muffins were not very nice and the yoghurt and fruit frequently ran out and was not replaced

Great stay

Location, cleanliness, great value for money, doorman Alex was wonderful, quick snacks and coffee to grab for breakfast

What could be improved: Lack of hangers in the room to hang towels, room was small so no wardrobe for clothes but that apparently is normal as the hotel rooms are small in NY

had a great time, would come again !

the property was pretty, trendy, offered good amenities (the bar, the every day 20$ credit, etc), the staff was all very nice and the rooms were v comfy.

What could be improved: it would have been nice to have a fridge and a microwave in the rooms

Short, sweet, and comfortable!

Loved the location and the bed was super comfortable! Also saw a couple celebrities! Fun.

What could be improved: Shower had a weird smell, but it was clean. Pretty sure that was just an old pipe thing. Went away when you actually took a shower.

Great location in lower Manhattan, easy transport to all the important locations

Easy to come by car, they have an arrangement with a near by garage at good prices. Did a great job with limited space to put everything you need into a tiny room. Since it’s New York City and you are going to be out and about, all you need is a place to sleep.

What could be improved: Tight spaces, but everything is tight in New York.

Clean and nice designed hotel.

Location close to little Italy and little China is great. Also the lobby bar is nice to hang out.

What could be improved: The is a club on 16th floor. We were travelling with children so not able to go there which was fine but please note that there is also loud music till deep in the night. Room with children is a challenge to keep tight. Small room.
