Madison LES Hotel

You know what struck me first about Madison LES Hotel?

You know what struck me first about Madison LES Hotel? It’s tucked right into this fascinating pocket of the Lower East Side where old-school tenement energy meets the newer wave of Manhattan gentrification. I mean, you’re literally on Madison Street – not the fancy Madison Avenue uptown, but this quieter stretch that feels authentically New York without trying too hard.

The hotel itself is honestly what I’d call a solid three-star that knows exactly what it is. The lobby’s got this clean, minimalist thing going on, but not in that cold, sterile way some boutique places do. When I checked in, the front desk guy actually gave me genuine neighborhood tips – told me about this incredible bagel spot two blocks down on Orchard Street that locals hit up Sunday mornings, and warned me that Friday nights can get pretty lively since you’re so close to all the bars on Ludlow. The rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed – I appreciated that they didn’t try to cram in unnecessary furniture just to fill space. My window faced Madison, and honestly, it’s not the quietest street in the world, but the double-paned windows did their job well enough that I slept fine.

What really works about this place is the location intelligence – you’re far enough from the tourist chaos of SoHo and Little Italy to feel like you’re staying somewhere real New Yorkers actually hang out, but close enough to walk to pretty much anything. I found myself wandering over to Katz’s Deli (which, yes, is touristy but also legitimately amazing), and the Tenement Museum is practically around the corner if you’re into that historical deep-dive stuff. The Essex Street Market is maybe a five-minute walk, and that’s where you’ll find some of the best cheap eats in the neighborhood – the Venezuelan place there makes arepas that’ll ruin you for anywhere else. Transit-wise, you’ve got the F train at East Broadway, and while it’s not the most convenient subway stop in the city, it gets you where you need to go. I actually ended up walking to a lot of places because the neighborhood has this great walkable energy, especially during the day when the street vendors are out and the whole area feels alive. The hotel staff seemed to genuinely know their surroundings too – not just the obvious recommendations but the kind of insider knowledge that actually matters when you’re trying to experience a city like a person who lives there, not just someone passing through.

Best hotels in New York range from luxurious Manhattan penthouses with Central Park views to boutique hotels in trendy Brooklyn neighborhoods and classic midtown properties near Broadway theaters.

Suits my needs comfortably

I needed to be in the area and the Madison LES is a convenient and decent hotel for my needs. It's my second time, and I would not hesitate booking again. There are many restaurants / cafes / bars close by and transport also.

A convenient spot in LES

The mattress is not overly soft. A kettle and a pair of slippers are provided. 符合中国人的习惯

What could be improved: It is right next to the manhattan bridge so there is inevitably some train noises, but I think the hotel is doing its best on sound insulation already. Bring earbuds if you are a light sleeper.

We had a great stay.

Property is great for the price! The room is spacious enough, bathroom is equipped with hairdryer and toiletries, breakfast is offered.

What could be improved: We could hear a bit the train passing mainly during the morning.

Good location

There is no shower phone in the bath , only dusch. You control only the water temperature, not the water pressure. Bed was comfortable. Cleaner would come every day changing towels and making up the bed.
Great view from the roof.
Very close to subway. Although the Brooklyn Bridge is above and crossed ny the train, the rooms are well sound isolated and nothing is heard.

What could be improved: Reception girls could be more friendly. Breakfast was very basic. Bagels, waffles, sandwich bread, juice, jam, fruit, cereals, muffins.
To have a more complete breakfast, take some honey, jam or ham and cheese from the supermarket Brooklyn Fare which is 200 m close to the hotel. Or any other stuff and bring it with you at breakfast. There is no problem. At checkout you pay $6 per baggage if you leave it over there to pick it up later than 17:00 of the checkout date.

Very Good

Great location, comfy bed, pleasant bedroom and awesome view from the top! The internet is good and the hotel is quite close to the subway entrance.

What could be improved: The breakfast is satisfactory, but the proximity of several tables to the serving area creates congestion when more than two people try to access the food. Also the reception staff isn't so friendly.

Simple - I was not keen on paying a deposit in case of damage to my room

The breakfast was fine, choice and plentiful, cleanliness excellent

Good average hotel. Nothing amazing nothing terrible

I liked the rooftop, the location, bed was comfy, AC was really good, TV was good, pillows were comfy. Breakfast was okay, just basic. The staff that we first met when we check in, he was doing the overnight shift, he was so lovely, cleaners were also so lovely. Close to subway, Chinatown, Brooklyn fair

What could be improved: The fridge we were given was more like a wine fridge so it doesn’t chill our drinks that were in there. They really need to invest in soundproofing, I could hear people in the room next to us talking as well as other stuff and people in the hall way we would hear. But overall it’s a good average hotel.

Good

Perfect location

What could be improved: The room door was not sound proof so we heard everything that was happening in the corridor which was quite bad at night. Also we couldn't figure out how to open windows. And there were no closet in the room.
