Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue
You know what struck me first about Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue?
You know what struck me first about Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue? It’s that perfect sweet spot where you get genuine Manhattan energy without feeling like you’re drowning in tourist chaos. I mean, yes, you’re right there on Fifth Avenue – literally across from the Flatiron Building – but the NoMad neighborhood has this sort of sophisticated calm that midtown proper just doesn’t have. When I walked in, the lobby felt refreshingly uncluttered compared to some of the more over-the-top places in the area, with these clean lines and subtle Art Deco touches that actually complement the building’s 1960s bones rather than fighting them.
The four-star rating feels honest here – they’re not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but everything just works really well. My room faced Fifth Avenue (though honestly, the courtyard-facing ones are probably quieter if you’re a light sleeper), and I loved having those big windows to people-watch from. The beds are seriously comfortable, and the rainfall showers are one of those small luxuries that make you feel like you made a good choice. What really sold me on this place, though, was how walkable everything is from here. You’re maybe eight blocks from Union Square, fifteen minutes on foot to Bryant Park, and there’s this excellent coffee spot called Birch Coffee just around the corner on 27th that the front desk guy recommended – turns out half the hotel staff gets their morning coffee there too.
I stayed here in October when New York was doing that perfect fall weather thing, and the location really shines during that season. You can walk down to Madison Square Park in about three minutes, which was gorgeous with all the changing leaves, and there’s something almost European about strolling back to the hotel in the evening when the Flatiron Building is all lit up across the street. The Le Labo bathroom amenities are a nice touch – I actually looked up where to buy them when I got home. One small thing that surprised me was how efficient the elevators are; you’d think in a building this size there’d be more waiting around, but they’ve got the timing down pretty well. The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood too, not just the obvious tourist spots – they pointed me toward this little wine bar on 28th Street that I never would have found otherwise. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere distinctly New York without paying those insane Times Square prices or dealing with the madness up there.

Great stay and I highly recommend it!
The property is in a great location! It was very clean and the staff went above and beyond. It is close enough to midtown that you can easily taxi or (long) walk to get to broadway shows. Nomad is booming with great bats and restaurants so that made the visit wonderful!
What could be improved: I wish they had a rooftop bar or sitting area where people can enjoy a view and fresh air. There are several rooftop bars in the neighborhood but it’s nice when a hotel has that too. Even if it was just a patio sitting area for hotel guests only.
Left with good feelings and memories.
The location, the service and variety of breakfast at the restaurant, cleanliness of the toilet at the lobby area was excellent during my stay. I was not happy that I was not able to stream NETFLEX in my room TV. However, the immediate action taken by the front office staff as a compensation to my disappointment was exemplary and satisfying. The politeness and readiness to serve with welcoming greetings “ welcome home” by one of the elder guys at the entrance, a Guinean man called Oslo ( I am not sure if I spelt it correct) was extraordinary and consistent.
What could be improved: Honestly, there is nothing that I did not like about the property. But suggest that the interior of the elevators could be made much better with different paintings and ads of the hotel. It is not line Marriott run property elevators.
Excellent.
The property was clean, modern, staff was friendly and felt safe.
Good
Hotel is located at a nice and safe neighborhood on Boardway in the heart of Korean town.
Plenty of good restaurants and some even open late. It is very convenient for late arrival travelers looking for late dinner.
What could be improved: The room is bite small and not even lighting. ( hotel did provide 2 extra lamps at no charge)
We only received 1 day of room cleaning service out of 4 nights of stay.
