First Impressions
Walking into Hyatt Regency Times Square honestly feels like stepping into the eye of a storm — in the best possible way. You’re literally in the middle of all the Broadway chaos, but once those elevator doors close, there’s this immediate sense of calm that washes over you. The lobby has that polished, four-star feel without being stuffy, and the staff actually seems to know what they’re doing (which, trust me, isn’t always a given in New York).
Location That Actually Delivers
I mean, you can’t get much more central than this — 1605 Broadway puts you right where the action is. What I love about this spot is that you’re close enough to walk to pretty much any Broadway show, but you’re also just a few blocks from some of the city’s best hole-in-the-wall spots that tourists usually miss. The subway access is ridiculously easy too, which matters when you’re trying to explore beyond Midtown. There’s parking available right at the hotel, which honestly surprised me — finding a place to stash your car in Times Square without selling a kidney is pretty rare.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was on the 25th floor, and wow — the city views actually live up to the hype. You know what struck me most? The soundproofing is legit impressive. I was expecting to hear every street performer and taxi horn, but it was surprisingly quiet once I closed the windows. The beds are comfortable (not groundbreaking, but solid), and there’s enough space to actually unpack without feeling like you’re playing Tetris with your luggage.
Breakfast and Dining
The breakfast setup here is pretty thoughtful — they’ve got vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The American classics are done well too, though honestly, the “breakfast to go” option saved my life more than once when I was rushing to catch a morning show. The restaurant on-site is decent for when you don’t want to venture into the Times Square tourist trap dining scene, but let’s be real — you’re in New York, so you’ll probably want to explore.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to be right in the thick of everything without feeling overwhelming. Couples seem to particularly appreciate this balance — there’s something romantic about having all of Broadway at your doorstep while still having a peaceful retreat to return to. The location score speaks for itself, but it’s the little things that matter: the elevators are fast (crucial when you’re on a high floor), the Wi-Fi actually works, and the concierge team knows their stuff about getting last-minute show tickets. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in the city, but it nails what most travelers actually need — comfort, convenience, and a genuine sense of being in the heart of New York.

Guest Reviews
Location to time square was excellent! Right across from the subway entrance as well as lots of food and shopping.
What could be improved: Our original room did not have hot water, but the staff made accommodations to move us to another room with a time square view.
I loved the location and friendly staffs
What could be improved: I didn’t like our water for bath was cold the whole time we stayed. Imagine showering in cold water. My husband and I could adjust the room temperature. In the middle of the night it would get very hot in the room
location was excellent
room and services were nice and comfortable
not a luxury room and view but does the work
every thing was clean , good service and very nice team
What could be improved: air condition did not work well
Room overall was nice. Clean, comfortable.
Location, location, location.
What could be improved: When I booked I asked and was told they would be able to store our bags after we checked out. I was assured they would, however, when the time came, they refused to hold them.
We asked for more bath towels (4 guests, but only 3 towels) we were told there were not anymore available.
I received a $40 additional charge, but when I asked for an itemized receipt to see what the charge was for, they have not provided.
Location is awesome! In the heart of Times Square. Beds are VERY comfortable! Hotel is beautiful. Staff were kind, helpful and accommodating. There was an immediate check in text from someone making sure everything was okay. Check in and check out was easy. If you’re on a higher floor and are a light sleeper, bring a pair of ear plugs because on windy nights, you can hear it howling. You can also hear the sirens. It didn’t bother me, but just be prepared. My room was on the 34th floor.
What could be improved: My checkout date was the day they were shutting down for refurbishing, so, take this with a grain of salt as it will all be fixed. The bathtubs needed refacing since it was peeling. The sink was constantly dripping. Not all of elevator buttons worked and one of them kept dialing for assistance; the phone would ring about 10 times and then it would redial constantly.
Location
What could be improved: Dining options and bar closed.
Great location, nice room
What could be improved: The hotel has no food or bar. A restaurant and a bar seems necessary for a hotel of that size.
Location was great
What could be improved: The air conditioner in room did not push cold air just warm air
The hotel is an excellent location. It is walkable to the main attractions. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. We encountered the front staff, only on check-in but the housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was always clean and made up on return to the hotel.
What could be improved: There was an issue with the hot water in the shower but that was rectified immediately. For the price per night, the hotel should offer a free buffet breakfast. Not everyone wants a "grab and go" breakfast. Some like to sit and dine in the mornings.
The hotel needs renovation
What could be improved: The facilities were outdated with no basic items in the room
