So I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Downtown- Financial District on Pearl Street, I wasn’t expecting much. I mean, it’s tucked into this narrow street in the Financial District, and you know how these older New York neighborhoods can feel sort of cramped and corporate during the day. But here’s the thing that actually surprised me: this three-star place has figured out how to make a pretty solid experience in one of Manhattan’s trickiest areas to navigate.
The location is honestly kind of brilliant once you get your bearings. You’re literally walking distance from Stone Street (which, if you haven’t been, is this cobblestone stretch with some genuinely good bars and restaurants that locals actually go to), and the subway connections are way better than you’d expect. The R and W trains are right there at Whitehall, and you can walk to the 4/5/6 at Bowling Green in maybe five minutes. What I really appreciated though was how quiet it gets at night – the Financial District basically empties out after work hours, so you’re not dealing with the usual Manhattan street noise that keeps you up. Well, except for the occasional garbage truck, but that’s just city life.
The rooms themselves are… look, they’re Hampton Inn rooms, so you know what you’re getting in terms of layout and amenities. But the staff here actually seems to care, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re dealing with the usual New York travel stress. The front desk helped me figure out the most efficient way to get to Brooklyn (take the R to DeKalb, not the tourist trap route everyone suggests), and they had decent recommendations for coffee that wasn’t just the Starbucks on every corner. The breakfast area gets pretty packed around 8 AM with business travelers, but if you can swing it earlier or later, it’s actually a pleasant spot to plan your day. One small thing that bugged me – the elevators are slow, and when you’re on the 10th floor with heavy bags, you feel it. But the trade-off is that you get some pretty decent views of the harbor from the higher floors, and honestly, watching the ferries come and go while you’re having your morning coffee isn’t the worst way to start a day in the city. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to spend time exploring lower Manhattan or needed easy access to Brooklyn.
New York’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of cosmopolitan sophistication and American hospitality, with many featuring rooftop bars and authentic New York cultural experiences.

Great location, great place for the price.
Nice hotel, great location! The waffles at the breakfast bar a dangerously good. Like tea and coffee all day. Very friendly staff.
What could be improved: It is a national chain issue, but the comforters are very thin, cheap and very unpleasant.
Very Good

Staff/breakfast
What could be improved: No laundry facilities
It is a great location, very clean, large buffet breakfast, spacious room (for NYC).
What could be improved: Our A/C and fan did not work. It was EXTREMELY loud and blew hot air. Luckily the weather was not that hot in April when we were there, so we endured and did not tell the staff.
Good value for week stay
Great location, helpful staff, good breakfest, used luggadge storage as nice compliment from hotel.
I recommend
Everything,

My stay in NYC was delightful and my stay at the hotel was perfect.
Everything went well. The location was good and the staff were very attentive. The pillows on the bed could be more firm but otherwise the bed was comfortable.
Nice and quiet area
Staff was very friendly and professional!!
What could be improved: No fridge and microwave in the rooms
Really nice
Breakfast was great... noise outside was very loud from the 4th floor.
