Hampton Inn Manhattan Chelsea
I'll be honest – when I first walked up to the Hampton Inn Manhattan Chelsea, I wasn't expecting much from a three-star place in this neighborhood.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Hampton Inn Manhattan Chelsea, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place in this neighborhood. But you know what? This hotel actually surprised me in the best way possible. It sits right on West 24th Street, which puts you smack in the middle of one of New York’s most interesting areas without the tourist chaos you get further south.
The Chelsea location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. You’re a quick walk to the High Line (which gets absolutely packed on weekends, so hit it early), and the Flatiron Building is just a few blocks southeast if you’re into that whole architectural thing. What I really loved though was being so close to all the little galleries and vintage shops that Chelsea’s known for – you can easily spend an afternoon just wandering around 23rd and 24th Streets discovering places that aren’t in any guidebook. The subway situation is solid too, with the 23rd Street stations for the N, R, W, and 6 trains all within a few minutes’ walk, which means you can get pretty much anywhere without too much hassle.
Inside, the Hampton Inn keeps things clean and functional without trying to be something it’s not. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this is Manhattan, so you’re not getting a palace – but they’re well laid out and the beds are actually comfortable, which matters more than you’d think after walking around the city all day. The staff seemed genuinely helpful when I needed recommendations, and they knew the neighborhood well enough to point me toward some great coffee spots nearby rather than just rattling off the usual tourist traps. One thing I appreciated was how quiet it stayed at night, even though you’re right in the middle of everything – the windows do a decent job of keeping out the street noise, though you’ll still hear the occasional siren (it’s New York, after all). The free breakfast was surprisingly good for a hotel this size, and honestly, starting your day with decent coffee and not having to hunt for a place to eat right away makes a real difference when you’re trying to pack a lot into your trip.

Great Deal In the Center of Manhattan
Clean rooms, Great staff, great location. Overall a great and affordable stay in the center of Chelsea.
What could be improved: The breakfast choises where very limited.
Good
Staff were good. Shower was good. Cleanliness was good. Room was stuffy but air-conditioning was too noisy. Breakfast wasn't great.....they kept running out of things. AND there was no real attempt to recycle the multitude of paper plates and plastic cutlery . Not good
Great place to get a good nights rest!
The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the location was very convenient.
Wonderful
Clean / friendly
Very Good
The location was perfect, walking distance from a lot of restaurants and time square.
What could be improved: The WiFi wasn't the best.
Very Good
spacious accommodation for the city
Very good
Just the WI FI wasn’t working so good but the rest was great .
Nice stay
Wonderful location!
What could be improved: They have a real trouble with the ice machines. The ones in the cellar, and in the fifth floor are not working at all. And the other ones only work until a certain time of the night. So if you came late after a long walk, you can’t have any ice at all.
Great location, comfy, quiet, breakfast included which adds value, personable staff, room with view.
Clean room, comfortable bed, bathroom of decent size, plenty of hot water, quiet (!) and--unlike too many hotel rooms today--the room had a small closet/wardrobe with enough room to hang long clothing items.
What could be improved: Everything was fine, really, unless you require a separate sitting area, which this room did not have. Also, housekeeping is only every second day, not daily. Some people may have a problem with this. I was OK with it.
Great value, nice staff. Will stay here again.
Convenient; good price
What could be improved: Nothing
