Element Times Square West
Look, I'll be honest – when I first walked into Element Times Square West, I wasn't expecting much from another midtown hotel.
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Element Times Square West, I wasn’t expecting much from another midtown hotel. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked on West 39th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, which means you’re close enough to all the Times Square madness without being right in the thick of it (trust me, that’s a good thing). The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that feels more like a stylish apartment building than your typical tourist trap hotel, and honestly, that sets the tone for the whole experience.
What I really love about this four-star spot is how it gets the little things right. The rooms are these smart, efficiently designed spaces – not huge by New York standards, but everything has a purpose. The kitchenettes are actually functional, which is rare, and I mean genuinely useful if you want to grab groceries from the Whole Foods a few blocks down on 42nd and save some money on breakfast. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night, and the bathrooms have decent water pressure – you know how hit-or-miss that can be in the city. I stayed on the 15th floor and barely heard any street noise, which is pretty impressive considering you’re basically in the heart of everything.
The neighborhood situation is what really sold me on this place, though. Hell’s Kitchen has this great mix of locals and visitors, so you’ll find actual good restaurants within walking distance – not just the overpriced tourist spots. There’s this little Ethiopian place called Zoma just a few blocks away that locals love, and you can walk to Port Authority in like five minutes if you need to catch a bus or subway anywhere. The hotel staff seemed to actually know the area too, which is refreshing. They pointed me toward some solid happy hour spots and gave me the real scoop on which streets to avoid late at night. The fitness center is small but has everything you need, and they do this grab-and-go breakfast thing that’s way better than those sad continental spreads most places offer. It’s not perfect – the elevators can be slow during busy times, and parking is expensive if you’re driving – but for the location and what you get, it feels like pretty solid value for midtown Manhattan.
Hotels near me in New York offer convenient access to iconic landmarks, where guests can easily walk to Empire State Building, Central Park, and world-renowned restaurants in diverse neighborhoods.

Wonderful
Check-in process was very easy and the hotel is conveniently located allowing visitors to walk to several locations. The room was very clean and was smelling fresh upon entry.
What could be improved: There were a few things in the bathroom that needs some attention but they were minor.
Very nice stay with good amenities and great location.
The location, rooms and its amenities. Breakfast was varied but can get crowded at certain times, making it difficult to find a table. Very close to times square and train station, making it convenient to explore the city. There is a complimentary drinks and snacks in the evening which we liked. The rooftop is small but nice to spend some time.
What could be improved: The lift situation needs some time to be allocated during the peak times, but it was manageable with a wait time of 5-10 min.
Hot fun in the city
Everything! We arrived early, had our bags held for us while we sat in the lobby(our room wasn't available yet) Another lady at the desk(forgot her name, sorry) had a rush put on it for us and we were able to really get our visit started. They are always so helpful and professional when I visit. Our suite, the hotel, breakfast...wonderful!
What could be improved: There was nothing. Everything was amazing!
Not stay again
Location, clean ,
What could be improved: No smile from staff, elevator not enough for capaclty
Very Good
Perfect location,nice room,comfi bed.
What could be improved: 2 elevators for 40 floors - waiting time approx 10-14min even if you call reception to send an elevator. No soap/shampoo.
Neat and tidy, apart from the broken elevator it’s a great place/location to stay.
Clean, spacious and accessible. Great location
What could be improved: We were informed about the elevator not working however it was an inconvenience considering there are about 40 floors of guests using 2 small elevators. Long queues just to go up or down, quite time consuming.
Amazing clean room, equipped with a kitchen and a view of the Empire State Building
Amazing room at 25th floor with a view of the Empire State Building, equipped with a kitchen, all the tools needed, dishwasher, fridge and so on. Extremely clean, large bathroom, perfect for business trips or couples.
Fun in the city
Everything, as usual. We got there very early and it was some sort of convention in town.It was sold out that night, so sadly a room wasn't available yet. We were allowed to sit in the lobby and relax until breakfast time. They held our bags while we went sight seeing and everything was a breeze from there!
What could be improved: Nothing. I'm always treated warmly when I stay here☺️
Wonderful
We were informed in advance about one of the lifts under repair.
The hotel was clean n breakfast and had a good variety and was very fresh.. We loved our stay there n would highly recommend it.
What could be improved: As one of the lift was non functional, it caused long queues in front of the other two lifts.
Good
Close to Time Square and other attractions. Lots of food places to eat out or buy groceries.
What could be improved: We were put in a room near the street and lift. Very noisy and was not able to change as booked out. Air-conditioning unit was also very noisy. If we were able to go to another room would have been better. Otherwise the room was alot bigger than most rooms that you see in New York with a kitchen, dishwasher microwave, stove and fridge. Great that you could buy food and not have to go out all the time.
