First Impressions
Walking up to Distrikt Hotel New York City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton on West 40th Street, you immediately get that this four-star property knows what it’s doing. The entrance has this sleek, modern vibe that feels distinctly New York without trying too hard — you know what I mean? It’s not flashy, but there’s something polished about the whole setup that makes you feel like you’ve made a smart choice. The lobby strikes that perfect balance between upscale and approachable, which honestly isn’t easy to pull off in this city.
Location & Neighborhood
Hell’s Kitchen is actually one of my favorite neighborhoods to stay in, and this spot really nails it. You’re literally in the heart of everything — Times Square is a quick walk when you want the chaos, but you can also duck into the quieter side streets when you need a breather. The theater district is right there, which couples seem to love (I mean, the location gets an 8.7 rating from them, so they’re clearly onto something). What I really appreciate is how you can grab amazing food within a few blocks — from hole-in-the-wall spots to those trendy places that somehow always have a line.
The Room Experience
Here’s where Distrikt Hotel New York City really delivers — the beds are genuinely comfortable, and I’m not just saying that. After walking around Manhattan all day, you actually look forward to collapsing into them. The rooms have this clean, contemporary design that feels fresh without being cold. There’s enough space to spread out a bit, which is saying something for New York. The bathrooms are well-designed too, with good water pressure and those little touches that make you feel like someone thought about your actual needs.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast situation works well for how most people actually travel in the city. They do American breakfast with a grab-and-go option, which is perfect when you want to get out and explore rather than lingering over a long meal. I mean, you’re in New York — there are incredible bagel spots and coffee places everywhere, so having something quick and reliable at the hotel just makes sense. It’s one of those practical touches that shows they understand their guests.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it gets the New York experience right. You’re staying somewhere that feels refined and well-run, but you’re not paying for a bunch of amenities you won’t use. The location means you can walk to most of what you want to see, and when you come back at night, you’re in a neighborhood that still has energy without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of hotel where everything just works — the staff knows what they’re doing, the rooms deliver on comfort, and you wake up excited to explore the city rather than feeling like you need to recover from your accommodation.

The stay was a
The breakfast was amazing and so was the staff.
What could be improved: I asked for face towels multiple times for 2 days and didn’t receive them. I complained about my faucet leaking and no one ever came to fix it.
Wonderful
The staff were exceptional. They made you feel welcome. Sent daily texts to see how things were going and to ask if there was anything they could do.
Great stay in a great city!
Location and credit which we used for breakfast. Staff were fab
What could be improved: Bit scruffy externally- scaffolding up outside
Excellent
Cudtomer service
What could be improved: The front Desk staff Robbi, so polite made you feel welcome
Having had the benefit of experience, I'd stay there again.
The hotel is great, room a little small, bed very comfortable, everything was clean! Local transportation and restaurants are readily available, and there is a lot going on. There are a number of hotels in that same block - wish the sidewalks were in better condition, some of the store fronts were a little shoddy. Then again, this is NYC!
What could be improved: Upon arrival, I was charged a $29/per day mandatory fee which could be offset by bar and restaurant use during my stay. I arrived before 3 p.m., the room was not yet ready so I checked by bag and went out, returning around 3:30. I wasn't planning on using either bar or restaurant to begin with, but if I did it would have to be by midnight that same day. What I did do, from the bar, is pick up two bottles of water and a packaged snack totaling under $10. For people like me, who are staying only one night, why don't they extend the use time through check-out time (noon) the next day - I might have had breakfast there.
So far so good but pls remove the mandatory $29 for meal or drinks i cant
So close to bus station
What could be improved: The mandatory $29 things every iam always there but this time i was surprised for that please change it!
Nice location for what I had planned. Would stay there again.
It was well maintained. Helpful staff with a nice bar on property. Rooms decent size. Convenient location. Less than mile walk from grand central. Area close to many attractions and food choices!
What could be improved: There was a daily $29 charge and credit thing that was never fully explained. I did not opt for paid breakfast in my booking. Even so my overall charges were same as I expected. Also, They could use more staff in the bar/lounge area. I went down to get a snack around ten on a Friday night and it was messy & the one staff member was obviously overworked/overwhelmed. Even so she was still pleasant. I didn’t end up getting anything.
Very Good
Breakfast good. Staff very helpful and friendly. Location perfect. Very close to Times Square.
What could be improved: N/A
I will stay again
Location & bed was very soft
What could be improved: Yall descriptions was way off the room did not come with microwave & only certain rooms came with refrigerators.
