First Impressions
Walking up to the 6 Columbus Central Park Hotel on West 58th Street, you immediately get that \”I’m in the right spot\” feeling. This four-star property sits right where Hell’s Kitchen meets Midtown, and honestly — the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, which I actually appreciate in a city where everything’s competing for your eyes.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot in New York — you’re literally a two-minute walk from Central Park’s southwest corner, which means morning jogs or evening strolls are basically mandatory (in the best way). Columbus Circle is right there with its shops and subway connections, and you know what? The Time Warner Center is practically next door if you need some retail therapy. I’ve stayed in plenty of Manhattan hotels, and this location hits that sweet spot where you feel connected to everything without being in the absolute chaos of Times Square.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what I’d call \”smart-sized\” — they’re not massive by any stretch, but they use the space really well. My room had this clean, modern feel with decent lighting (which is harder to find than you’d think in NYC hotels). The windows actually open, which might sound silly but it’s such a nice touch when you want some fresh air instead of just AC. The bathroom was compact but functional, and the shower had good water pressure — honestly, that’s half the battle won right there.
Neighborhood Vibes
Hell’s Kitchen has really come into its own over the past decade, and staying here puts you right in the middle of some fantastic food options. There’s this whole strip of restaurants along 9th Avenue that locals actually go to, not just tourists. The area feels safe walking around at night, and there’s enough activity to keep things interesting without being overwhelming. Plus, if you need to get anywhere in the city, the subway access from Columbus Circle makes it pretty straightforward.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances accessibility with a more relaxed vibe. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the location — and I get why. You can walk to Lincoln Center for a show, grab dinner in the neighborhood, then take a romantic stroll through Central Park all in one evening. The hotel doesn’t try to be everything to everyone, which actually works in its favor. It’s comfortable, well-located, and the staff generally knows what they’re doing. For the price point and location, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for without any major surprises (good or bad).

Guest Reviews
The location it’s amazing, the staff also, the rooftop has an amazing view.
Great location. Friendly staff.
What could be improved: Need access to ice.
perfectly located
The room was far more generous than anticipated for typical NYC rooms. And we had a private balcony which was a real bonus, even in the colder season, it was appreciated. The tub was the most comfortable soaking tub I've ever enjoyed and would repeat my stay for these factors alone. It was one street back from Columbus Circle which made it super convenient to get transportation (taxi and subway) to and from and as a landmark. Bed was generous as well and comfy. Room was on the back side of property which made it quiet as well. We even had a full walk-in closet! Tastefully appointed too - not a sea of white on ivory on bisque. And NO carpeting, which I find uber unhygenic. Thank you!! Super close proximity to a great little bagel/coffee shop for quick grab-and-go mornings, next door to a pharmacy, and across the street for Whole Foods to buy our own snacks.
What could be improved: Elevator was slow and on the smaller side. Not much of a view from our room but happy to trade that for quiet.
The location was perfect for what we needed. The room was nice and large.
What could be improved: Maybe my price points for NYC are out of touch but it seemed over priced. Our suite window literally had a breeze blowing through the room, so much so the curtains moved.
Location is excellent, close to Carnegie Hall, Broadway and Central Park, restaurants nearby. Great place!
The room was really confortable (especially the bed), with a nice bathroom. The location is really great with quick access to the public transports.
What could be improved: Only one lift was operational (the others were out of order), so I needed to wait for crowded lifts... I imagine it was exceptional.
location
What could be improved: Fire alarm that woke us around 1 am, the result of a resident smoking!!
I need a dark room to sleep properly and the curtains had lots of gaps, allowing street light in.
Location
What could be improved: The decor is weirdly masculine. Feels like a child who came into money designed it.
convenient location
What could be improved: the heat didn’t work very well
