45 Times Square Hotel
Look, I'll be honest – when I first walked up to the 45 Times Square Hotel on 45th Street, I wasn't expecting much from a three-star place smack in the middle of all that Times Square chaos.
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the 45 Times Square Hotel on 45th Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place smack in the middle of all that Times Square chaos. But you know what? This little spot actually surprised me in the best way possible.
The thing about staying right here is that you’re literally steps from the TKTS booth and all those Broadway theaters – I mean, you can practically hear the opening numbers from some of the rooms facing the street. Yeah, it gets loud (we’re talking New York loud), but honestly, that’s part of the charm if you’re here for the full city experience. The front desk staff seemed genuinely happy to help with theater recommendations, and they actually knew which shows had last-minute rush tickets – not something you’d expect from every midtown hotel clerk. The lobby’s compact but welcoming, with this sort of modern-meets-classic vibe that doesn’t try too hard to be fancy.
What really won me over were the little details that show someone’s paying attention. The rooms are smaller than what you’d get in suburban America – this is Manhattan real estate we’re talking about – but they’re smartly designed with enough outlets for all your devices and blackout curtains that actually work (crucial when those giant LED billboards are flashing outside). The bathrooms are clean and updated, though the water pressure varies depending on what floor you’re on. I stayed on the seventh floor and had zero complaints. The air conditioning works well, which matters more than you’d think when you’re walking around Times Square in summer heat. One thing I really appreciated – the Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, no weird login requirements or constant disconnections like some places put you through. And while there’s street noise, the windows do a decent job of muffling it once you close them, so light sleepers shouldn’t panic completely. The neighborhood itself is pure sensory overload – you’ve got everything from street performers to those costume characters to the smell of food trucks mixing with car exhaust. It’s a lot, but if you want to be in the absolute heart of tourist Manhattan with easy subway access and walking distance to everything, this place delivers without breaking the bank.

Great location and clean facilities for a short stay in NYC
Location and cleanness of the room
What could be improved: Staff a bit disengaged and the room bit small
Great location for a fast trip to NYC.
Location was convenient to plays, subway and shopping. Our room was very small but functional. The bed was on a platform with suitcase storage underneath.
What could be improved: Our hall was very dark. I never felt unsafe, but it was odd.
Loved my stay!
Loved my room! The location was very good. Although, it's very close to Times Square, I didn't have any issues with any noise (and I always sleep with windows open). The bed was super comfy, the shower was huge (loved that). There were also: a body wash, a body lotion and a shampoo with a conditioner, a cooler and a kettle with tea and coffee. And I got a few complimentary items like 2 bottles of water, candies and even a cute brochure with a map of the main attractions around the hotel :) And the price was very reasonable! Very much recommend!
What could be improved: Wi-Fi could have been better; for some reason, it was breaking up a lot. Also, my keys stopped working twice which was uncomfortable as I had to go downstairs to reprogram them. And there were two elevators but only one was working (for all 16 floors) and its door was jamming from time to time.

What could be improved: Nothing
Great location. Decent facilities. Nothing glamorous.
Great location. Has all the basics but just a bit blah.
What could be improved: A little bit disappointing in the charm department. Seemed to lack the polish of a classy hotel. The staff seemed to be unaware of the importance of hospitality standards.
